I never really knew the proper hammer-ons and pull-offs technique. This video helped me to correct it. Thank you.

I think many teachers would show only their most perfect attempts. Thanks for your honesty in showing that even you, a technically accomplished guitarist, have to work hard to train your hands. It is refreshing, it’s like learning from a much more advanced friend. Also, pretty blouse, I love bright, painterly fabric on a bright, lovely person. My deceased brother, a wonderful musician, painter, sculptor, and brilliant giant, wore fabrics like that in the 60s and 70s when we were young men.

Sor's Opus 60 No. 20 is an excellent piece to iron out your hammer ons and pull offs

You are the best teacher. I learnt a lot from this single video. Please keep educating us in classical guitar. You are not hiding any secret techniques from us. Thank you so much.

Thank you for the video. Been playing for several years but haven’t played classical since I started. I am looking forward to watching all your clips.

Great video! If you really want to test your hammer on and pull off technique. There is a mean-ass triplet run in Tarrega's Gran Jota. Or you can try the much shorter runs in La Aborada (ignoring the artificial harmonics in the right hand! Unless you like patting your head and rubbing your belly). All left hand only, great for building finger strength. Plus I like practicing techniques in the context of a piece. More motivating, for me anyway. 😊

Thanks for the left hand posture. I'm really bad at fretting notes.

Hi Beatrix, Thank you for this lesson. Your playing is absolutely beautiful! I've been playing guitar for a number of years but im new to classical guitar and fingerstyle. I'm familiar with some scales but I wanted to ask you what you think is a good scale to really focus on when it comes to classical guitar. Thank you, new subscriber J Rodrigo..

I never studied music properly I play essentially by ear and tabs. I am studying a quite demanding piece and I need to play a Hamer with my pinky in midst of a tremolo almost immediately after changing chords, and I need to pluck the next string immediately after the hammering so I can connect with the next step which is a tremolo on the string I just hammered all this has to happen at relative quick pace so it doesn't sound bad 😂😂(never felt such pain in my wrist while playing guitar😭🤣 and I still suck at it)

I'm a left handed guitarist and I took mild offense at the title. jk the world doesnt care for left handed people.
