no kidding, these look hard-wired and for some reason, probably design, the thinness of the wire maybe battery fries the wires. My right phone wouldn't work after a year. We should call them on inherent factory defects and faulty craftsmanship. Is there any class action suit anyone knows about?

I've had mine about 6 weeks and used them 5 times, so I was beyond bemused to discover the left side won't work today. A video and an (stupid) article later, I decided to check System Preferences> Sound on my Mac. Sure enough the balance was not even, so I slid the control and instant fix (and relief). Then I found your post. Really unhappy with this product. It's supposed to be the sturdiest product out there, cause DJ's are fanagling with them all night long.

Thanks! I figured it was a broken cable by the way the sound on the right side would go out whenever I moved the unit around. I burned off the coating on the cable using a lighter like you, and you were right in that you have to be careful because the flame will run down the cable and strip off more of the coating than you need. In any case, I burned off the coating on the ends I was going to rejoin and it did the trick. I used a tiny bit of hot glue on the joint to ensure the wires don't become disconnected. Now the headphones are working like new again.

This was the most helpful video. I can officially toss these expensive paper weights in the trash. Ridiculous. I had mine for maybe a year. The wired ones before these a year before they started to literally fall to pieces. This is the video 3 I watched praying for a simpler solution. I found one alright... never buying beats again.

By the way, if you don't have debonder, use a few drops of acetone. That worked really well for me. I guess nail polish remover or paint thinner might work, too. Just be careful.

Hey great video watched it a few times around. I’m currently working on my beats solo 3 🎧 right side isn’t working. When it was fully functional I noticed sometimes the right side would cut off and gradually got worse until right side went full kapoot. I’m have a hard time diagnosing exactly what’s going on . You ought to start your own business with this video by putting a link in the description on how to send their broken pair to you and a price and you can just do this same routine by charging a reasonable price and turn around time. Judging by the views on this particular video you might even have a considerably large income coming in from people needing this same thing down to their headphones. I'll be your first customer! Try inserting and removing the factory headphone cable several times. I did this and issue was resolved. Seems like it just gets corroded and causes something to lose connection after not being used for a while.

I stuck a piece of rolled up tin foil in the aux port and the sound worked once I reconnected to my phone again. I’m sure you could use an actual aux cord but didn’t have one on me and read that you can use tinfoil. Try it if your right side is not playing sound!!! (I have solo 3)

The ring around the beats logo/ play pause button its glued with double side sticky tape. try to remove it with something like a plastic film thin but strong...you will find the screws under...

Ive replaced the 2 thin wires with 2 the most thin normal wires ,after doing all the wiring the internal jack was faulty ,so instead of stereo i have mono now ,ive drilled bigger holes to insert the wiring ,in few hours my patience was on limit lol but i got them for free with same problem ,these shits by dr dre has the cheap wiring and all will have the same fate unless you change all the thin wires with 2 normal wires ,then they will never break

Ben Sala Jr if you watch the video you will see that both sides have wires on this side and ones are for wireless connection and others for wired connection...chek your headphones as shown in the video and see if you can find the damaged wire...

Ben Sala Jr the wires of the right speaker start from the montherboard. And the motherboard are on the left speaker. So yes, this will fix the right speaker, if it's still solder. If not, open the right speaker, and sold back the wires.

Why the hell should anyone have to attempt to fix these headphones that are way too expensive to be breaking the way they do? I love having new headphones so my sister gave me a pair of the rose gold solo beats 3 for Christmas 2 yrs ago. I literally have worn them less than 10 times for only a few minutes at that to listen to youtube videos. I put them on yesterday and sound only comes out 1 ear.!!! They're junk and I knew they were junk at any price since I always pull up the tech reviews on any electronics. I wanted a really good but reasonably priced headphones since I have many pairs and actually some of the cheap pairs sound as good or better than pairs I've splurged on in price. But she called herself buying the very best and since she was buying her grandson a pair she bought 2 sets off amazon for almost $650. What a waste of money. I'm not going to tell her either since she'll be mad I was right.
