Exactly what Push2 was designed for. I wish there was an easier way to mute parts in the session though without leaving the bottom row blank like you also did in this video.
@IhorMedia3 жыл бұрын
Hell yes man! Hell yes! This muting is a little painful. I also constantly fail to mute the clip on time, because you need to do it a little in advance.
@markbooth3 жыл бұрын
@@IhorMedia keep your loops fairly short and then just mute 2 beats into the bar. That seems to work best for my brain.
@IhorMedia3 жыл бұрын
@@markbooth Makes sense! Though I kinda understand how it works. It is all about quantised clips and you schedule their playback depending on the global quantisation setting. Which perhaps makes a lot of sense. Tho a little hard to use :) Would be great if they implemented something to make it easier
@pchangsta3 жыл бұрын
You can hit mute + track selector (the track buttons at the top) to mute the track. Would that work for your purposes? You can also "mute lock" with the Push 2 by holding down mute briefly (and then hit a corresponding track for example).

I sold my Push2 and buy the digitakt, because it slows my workflow, but its on my list to buy again, its a amazing piece of gear, and when i see you making two track that fast😁
@IhorMedia3 жыл бұрын
For me Push was kinda the same. Too many things around that actually slow you down. But it all comes down to limitations, I guess. Here I used Push as an 8 tracks groovebox and it worked dope! However if you have a Digitakt - just create music on it! 😊 Thanks for kicking in! ✌️

Nice edits on the fly. I just bought a used push1 for 200 bux. It will probably make me want the 2nd version, however they are essentially the same thing in most aspects. I understand that i would still want to use the computer to get at VST settings, and that applies to the many VST's that require their own interfaces that would not import the interfaces into the push2, therefore, i can still get away without needing the push2 as my guitar based VST's are beyond the editability within the push as a surface controller itself. The giant softkeyboard and very usable ribbon controller layout for high velocity solo work as a digital guitar running exact guitar samples and amplitube effects and amp modelling is going to be very groovy! Only about 12 days away from the thing being delivered, so i study about it further until it arrives. Thanx for sharing your push2 demonstration, and thankyou for being one of the first countries to make the levels dettuce completely legal! Rock on captain.

everytime hes finished. he goes into session mode line 1 = aa a a a aaa a a = intro etc line 2 = b b bb b b bb b b = pre chorus etc line 3 = chorus etc if he presses record as he does that it pastes a final arrangement that every DAW recognizes to be edited this sounds very complicated for a very simple thing. Basically, your song structure is finished/to be refined etc

Ihor, did you make the ableton template you used for this or did it come with the sample pack? I love my push but without a good basis I find it way more time consuming than the modular.
@IhorMedia2 жыл бұрын
I made this template myself. It is actually very straight forward - 8 MIDI tracks with Simpler on them. Then you load samples from whatever sample packs into the tracks and have fun.
