I never comment on you tube videos, but that was the best distillation of what sampling is and how it works i have ever seen. Not only did you show how great Push2 is at handling it, you ended up with a dope ass beat. Good on ya!

Ableton finally got on board with what made original Samplers so good. Getting lost in your creation is what it's all about, and having fun! It's a different animal to the original push, and one for the better it looks like. Sampling is so enjoyable, and I always loved their sampling tools but now they've provided a really good piece of creative hardware. Great video, PB. Lovely work as always, Ski.

No its not this is sooo bad, he doesnt even go through the steps needed to take on push 2.... this is 6/10 at best.
@therealliveguy8 жыл бұрын
agreed. He shows you what it can do, which is great...but he doesn't show you HOW to do it. Someone that actually has a Push sees this instantly. Prime example is hitting the pads to record each sample. He shows you that it can do that, which again, is great....but he doesn't show you how to. So you are 1000% correct in that this tutorial is clear as mud.

I got my Push 2 about a month ago. The first thing I did was go through separate tutorial series to learn as much as I could. I'd start one video with Ableton open and work with Push based on what the video was teaching. It made a huge difference and I wasn't just button bashing. I have an APC40 mk2 as well. They instantly mated essentially and you can control the APC with Push. I can use Apc40 to trigger clips, use push 2 to play keys and slice the incoming clips etc. Push 2 is not cheap, if you buy it, make sure you're down to learn all of it. This video is probably the greatest example of Push 2 genius ..

That actually sounds incredibly amazing for a quick tutorial. Best advertisement for Push 2 I've seen so far and it wasn't really designed as one. Samples work very well together and I really like what you did with that Herbie chord. If you ditch the Beasty Boy sample (still works well but let's face it, that rap works well on almost every instrumental and as such is used too often) you can easily make a full track out of it of your own, instead of a remix.
