In Banjo Kazooie, there are only two enemy types that exist in water. The water itself is enough of a hassle that if there were more it'd be a problem. You can't fight in the water. The first type of enemy found in the water is a living mine that exists only in the second level. There are only two of them, they each exist in a separate, deep pool of water, and they can't go underwater. Furthermore, one of them is destroyed when you do something elsewhere in the level. The second enemy found in the water is the shark. It also appears twice, but in different levels. The first time is in the second level, where it will spawn whenever you're in the water around the outside of the level. It doesn't kill you instantly, it only does one point of damage per attack, but it's faster than you in the water and it always spawns near you and in a random location relative to where you enter the water. Its second appearance is far more of a problem. In the penultimate level, there's a small, cordoned off area of water that has a couple of collectibles in it, and getting into the water in that area will spawn Snackers. The problem is twofold, and these problems would exist even without Snackers being there, it just exacerbates the existing issues by being another point of tension. The problems are that the camera doesn't like that area, and the water in that level is polluted. In gameplay this means that while paddling on the surface, your character is slowly drowning as if he was underwater in any other level, and underwater he drowns faster. At least one of the collectibles in the small area with Snackers is underwater, and the camera especially doesn't like you being underwater in that area because of how the camera is designed to shift when you dive.
