How to make FLAT ground in Valheim

The level that your character is standing on, your characters feet, is the level that the leveling tool will by default try to level the ground to... so always make sure you are standing in the right place befor you start leveling. How ever, by holding in the shift key the tool will try and level the ground around the area where you are aiming the curser at instead. This way, holding in shift, you could aim the tool at either the bottom of a hole, or on the top of a raised section, hold in shift and press to level, and the surrounding area will try to level to the point you aimed at.

They just need to make it easier to level ground. Shouldn't take this much work. Make it so we need the resources, but then add a reliable way to make level ground.

I don't want to say you're wrong or anything, because I might be, but doesn't the levelling tool level to whatever you are standing on? So all you need to do is level a corner to what you want and then stand on it and level the rest?

Then how would that work? First make a complete flat area and then stand around it and level the ground? I tried this and it doesn't work. Maybe if the land is already close to being flat all-together.

Leveling tool will level to the elevation you are currently standing, so having that level corner and standing on it will give you a level area from where you are standing

I appreciate the video but honestly it kind of made me want to do this less, eight minutes to get basically a 2x3 area doesn't make me want to build a building I'd actually be able to have as a base. It's like they purposefully made this more difficult than it needed to be just to be a time sink.

Dude just build an edge on one corner and raise or elevate to that edge. The ancient Egyptians had a 90 degree angle with wood...

Soon as you find a level you like, just dig that level into the hills, look behind you that you arent dipping too much and use the leveling tool when needed.
