Hey Shawn. My father used to tell me "when you know what you are doing your hands move faster ". It's true. I've been a heating, air conditioning, refrigeration mechanic for 25 years and I get the same thing when I'm working. People like to watch especially when they've never seen how things are put together. It's a pleasure to watch you work. Thanks very much for sharing. Dave.

Every movement you make is a step closer to completion, you must be a real good mechanic.

Smooth work Shawn. I just replaced headlights and fog lights with LEDs and it took me most of a day. Had clips on the Tupperware back of fog lights that were a b--ch to get off on my 2013 RT. Now I'm trying to remove horn and put in a real horn. Hard to figure how to get to horn wedged in left front behind fog light plastic panels. Got to be a way though as they put it in there. Another day another challenge. Thanks again,Tom

That is my bike exactly and I love it. I could take it apart, just like that.. Getting it back together? I'd be coming to see you, Shawn.

Wow,living in the UK has it's downside when it comes to finding somebody who can service the RT's, your vid's are really good!. I feel more confident every time I look at them in undertaking the maintenance tasks myself. Great Work,
@ShawnSmoak10 жыл бұрын
Jim Campbell It's not that bad once you've gone into them a couple times. The biggest mistake I see from customer working on them is they always seem to mix up the body panel screws. No washer were there needs to be a washer, wrong length in places and over tightening the screws, etc... If you have a service manual and are somewhat organized, you shouldn't have any issues. If you run into any issues, just PM me... Thanks for watching and commenting!

Just wanted to say thanks for making this video. I recently did the last maintenance on mine and needed to get to the grease zerks on the a-arms. I was a bit nervous the first time removing the frunk, but after seeing your video I have done it a few times now and just gets easier every time.

The floorboards are from "Seal FloorBoards". This was not my Spyder, so I don't know how much he paid for them. Oddly, I haven't installed either light kits... We sure sell a lot of them through our dot com store, so I see a ton of the kits come through. The GM said he wants to deck-up an RT. If so, I'll make lots of videos... Thanks for viewing and commenting! - Shawn

Question for you on body panels. I have the 2012 Can Am Spyder RTS. It was purchased preowned, and not a single regret. There's a left hand radiator bezel and screen, but none on the right hand side. Do you recall whether the 2012 Spyder ever came with these two items, or whether there always a huge gaping hole on the right side?

@ShawnSmoak10 жыл бұрын
I've only installed one satellite radio in the last couple years, and that was not recorded. Most people seem to use an iPod through the included connection kit, or bluetooth kits with their phone and one of the many free internet radio services nowadays... Thanks for watching and commenting Willie!

QUESTION: I have a "Pet Palace" so that my dog can ride with me on my motorcycle that leans in the curves. Would the fact that a CanAm does not lean. cause a problem for my dog riding with me?

Greetings Shawn, I have a 2011 RT and I'm wanting to replace just the back speakers! Do you have any videos on how to remove the speakers? Thanks in advance
@ShawnSmoak10 жыл бұрын
No, I haven't recorded that procedure yet Shephan. The pods come off fairly easy, it's getting the painted body cover off the removed pod (to gain access to the speaker) that's a little tricky. I will be swopping body panels on an RT here in the near future, I'll do my best to get that recorded and uploaded. Thanks for watching and commenting!
