Hey Evan, not sure if you watch Cross Timbers Bison KZbin channel. You had a spray that you would put a spray on the steers to try and help with the fly issues but you said it would only last a day or so to give them some relief. The Bison are on a ranch in Oklahoma, and the rancher puts a few bags of food grade diatomaceous earth (powder, looks like dry plaster) spread on the ground where the Bison lay down and says it deters flies from landing on the Bison. He also uses a spray that he makes up that have a small amount of diesel fuel in the spray. Not sure what the entire mix is but he has a pretty good herd size and he sprays them all with whatever the combo spray has in it. Just a suggestion for the food grade diatomaceous earth spread out where they down, maybe it will help yours too. Thanks for the channel love the content!

I worked construction and we made the change to solar powered message and arrow boards. Most of the problems occurred when batteries 🔋 got old and the other problem was mainly during winter months cold and shorter days especially if weather was cloudy or I think that technology hasn't produced the ability to use UV light efficient enough

You can test the panel output with your voltmeter Evan.
@colint2 жыл бұрын
Test the solar panel voltage when the system is fully connected. It might be 20volts when not connected but unable to supply any current when connected which will make the voltage sag. A flat battery is almost certainly caused by lack of charge, you just need to work out if it's the panel or the controller.

Fireball eating the persimmons from the tree reminds me of an Angus bull we once had. He was pretty tame. Mom and dad made sure to hand raise him from a calf so he would be friendly to humans and easier to handle. Anyhow, we had this pear tree out in one of the pastures and one thing he liked to do once the pears were ready was sit under the tree - and I mean literally sit like a dog on his hind end- and reach up to eat as many pears and foliage off that tree he could.

My premier solar charger did the same thing. I used a headlight cleaning kit to remove the haze. It was the only thing that would clean it off. Also replaced the battery, it’s still not getting as hot as it used too. So, I switched to my AC charger and I run lines to each area.

I love this channel, every video is entertaining and educational. It almost feels like a PBS television program. I am always curious why they have goats, what is the advantage? They don't milk the goats, they don't eat goats, they don't use the goats to manage vegetation, they don't use the goats to provide companionship for animals like horses. If Evan and Rebecca see this I would love to learn about your purpose for the goats.
@CountryViewAcres2 жыл бұрын

That happened to me and killed it’s shock Also, premier sent us a new solar panel as they claimed some of their panels had a bad coating on them. Hope this helps

The best luck I've had using outdoor fence chargers like what you're having trouble with is I would take a 55 gallon barrel and cut one end out of it lay it on its side and put everything inside the barrel other than the solar panel of course. That way everything always stays dry. Best of luck to you and I enjoy your videos although I have absolutely no idea why you raise goats? I'd like to know what you do with them that makes it worth your time and effort to raise them? I look forward to hearing your answer to that question

I'm sitting here watching your video. I wouldn't go in that goat pen without a cattle prod. All that tall grass along your electric fencescould very well be grounding out your line. That grass should be kept low to eliminate the possibility. That one panel could be OK I occasionally clean, polish and ceramic coat the screen on my yard lights to help them work better. You can't make them clear again, but they can work better!

Those are definitely some big birds. Roasting size for sure. Chicken and dumplings, here we come!😋 This is the hard part of animal husbandry if one loves animals, but if they weren't to be raised for food they would have no purpose and would never exist in the first place.
