Hi Evan, exactly right on the turkey roost, at least in our experience. Turkeys just need some protection from the rain, and the roof doesn't need to be anything complicated. I saw the comments from the video when you built it. On our ark, the turkeys hop onto the lowest board, like the one you have over the feed, then they hop up onto the roosts. I did a time-lapse of our turkeys climbing up for the evening on a video that's coming out Sunday. Your ark looks perfect!

Evan, no matter how you build the turkey roost someone is always going to have something to say. If it works for you and your animals so be it. By using material you had lying around, you used it fii or r a purpose and didn’t have to trash it. You are doing an amazing job to protect and care for your animals. Don't worry about explaining yourself, your doing the best you can with what you got and that's what makes you guys unique on yt. I don't think people realize how much work is involved in what you are doing. 40 hour jobs, building back a farm, and maintaining what you have already accomplished, and then presenting it on KZbin is a monumental task. Hi it's Jon from CRAZYDAYSHOMESTEAD I'm from UP here in central PA and have been butchering pigs for well I er 30 years now. Your males, almost without exception, will be pushing 300lbs in 7 months if not over. I like a bigger hog , makes for better bacons and bigger pork chops. But that being said if you figure 6 months for sows and 7 for barrows you'll be pretty good. Love the videos keep up the good work you guys 👌 God Bless

What worked well for us when halter training calves, halter them before we gave them feed and walked them to feed, or had the feed just in front of them to coax them to walk . But we have generally started with bottle calves.

Thank you for your great videos. Rebekah, please wear safer shoes when working with the cows. I worry that you will get stepped on and end up with a broken foot. Might I also suggest giving the calf praise and release every time she takes even one step forward. That is how I taught my colt to lead, and it worked great.

Maybe somebody hopes to see a turkey climb up on the turkey roost and fill the leaking nail holes. With the cooler seasonal weather coming everything looks ready. The pond water has to be as good a fertiliser as any store bought product. The pigs are living "The life of Riley" treated to pies and such. They're going to end up fat big oinkers in no time. I’ve done a lot of haulter work with animals and I wanted to leave you guys with some tips. The over nose part has to go higher, the part where it loops around the ear and the over nose connect should be a inch or so under her eye. Also I wouldn’t recommend tying her to that wooden fence because often animals will jump and get there legs caught in the fence. And if she starts pulling you guys around you can tie her off to the back of a bale wagon and drive very slowly so she knows she has to follow the haulter. But most important one is get the peice over her nose higher on her face. No hate here just wanted to leave some tips for you guys.

Evan you can make a sprinkle like the one on the tripod out of the ones like that,that spike in the ground. If not mistaken I used a piece of 3/4” pipe a 3/4” flange and a chunk of wood stick the sprinkler spike in the pipe and hook up to the water supply (I used galvanized pipe to make mine)😊

When Ellie steps toward you give her immediate slack and then wait 30 seconds before tightening it up again. They need the reward (slack) for the step. We, including me, have a tendency to keep pulling so they don't get a reward.

If you leave the halter on the calf with the lead rope dragging the ground the calf will halter break herself. Bc every time she steps on the lead rope it help to train her to not run off
