I was so excited as a kid when I saw this out, that was my favorite loco and I even got a 1960s HO model of it.

Nice engine, although Nate my club at Sacramento valley live steamers has.southern pacific, pacific locomotive as well and we have a stream lined gs-4 owned by Victor owens and a gs-1 steam locomotive by Donald yungling

Oil fired engines are easy to keep clean! (And that one has turned the drivers quite a lot )

Well, SP did have Pacifics in Daylight streamlining. This is prototypical. They were mainly used in the San Joaquin Daylight service.
