Bruno, The Icing On The Cake Of Your Videos Is That You Don't Dub In Any Unrelated, Needless, Detracting Music Or Any Unnecessary Commentary! Just Being Able To Sit Back & Relax While Being In The Pilot's Seat & Watch & Listen To The Glider Moving Thru The Air Without Distractions Is The Most Interesting & Appealing! Live Audio Only Is The Only Way To Eat This Type Of Cake! Thank You Very Much For Being A Purist To The Sport!👍👍

I so want to do this myself! I have been flying radio control gliders for almost all my life with an aspiration to one day sit in a real one and control it from inside instead of watching a speck from the ground. Thanks again for the upload Bruno

Thanks for sharing. The cloudscapes and landscapes were positively stunning! I'm itching to get up too, but also grounded by the pandemic (and the panel rebuild is not done yet, and the trailer needs new tiers, etc). For now, my mates and I are flying together in Condor to polish off the rust as best we can (with friendly competition, of course). Hope you get up soon and can share more great 'scapes.

hello, beautiful flight ; particular weather conditions, with the ascending and descending currents in substantial equilibrium, they have allowed you to maintain constant altitude, speed and course. Correct me if I'm wrong. Fantastic.

Can you help me to clarify the problem of the sistem units used around the world? Here in Italy, for instance, we use instruments in meters and kilometers, but I see that perhaps you have them in feets. Thanks in advance of you can find the time to replay to me.

Very cool to see the 44mins of the video!! Short question from a non-glider pilot: if you had vacated to the left I am reasonably confident you would be able to either leave enough runway and taxiway clear or you could also have quickly pulled the glider away from the taxiway, so vacating to the RIGHT seems to be worse option. Can you please explain? Thanks!!!
@BrunoVassel4 жыл бұрын
Great questions! Very perceptive! The only reason why I went to the right (west) of the runway was because we do a lot of grass operations on the west side and it has been smoothed out much more than the east side. Less bumpy of a roll off. If both sides were equal - yes, rolling off to the left would have been logistically better. Great observation!

Since I play KSP, I got nervous when the plane started to yaw during the landing. Yikes, RIP to the countless kerbals lost to yaw induced crashing.
@revenevan114 жыл бұрын
Gliders like this are the kings of side-slipping (inducing that yaw on purpose to slow down before the touch down)

Are you guys up flying or still restricted , will you miss the season this year ?
@BrunoVassel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter. We are just starting to fly now. The weather has been cool and windy in Utah so it has hampered my flying so far. Next weekend looks not good either but summer will eventually come. Cheers!

Often hear of people talking about temperature sensors on each wingtip to try and detect thermals.
@PureGlide4 жыл бұрын
I think a better way is to lightly hold the stick and 'feel' if a wing is lifted up or not. Hard to imagine temperatures would be that useful!
@brucebaxter69234 жыл бұрын
Pure Glide that would explain why it’s not used.

@@brucebaxter6923 It would still be an interesting experiment to try!
@kaihorstmann27834 жыл бұрын
Too slow, too unprecise, at least at affordable cost. Even then I doubt the usefulness. You can feel changes of movement with great sensibility in fractions of a second with your butt when you have the experience.
@billgund45324 жыл бұрын
I knew one pilot who swore he could "see" thermal activity using polarising sunglasses. Okay, I'll stop typing.
