We have the past for memories to help move us up for the future!! A true prophet said that even though sometimes things get bad….they ALWAYS get good again. We have to remember that it’s the good that lasts, because of its strong foundation. The bad goes like ashes unto our feet…..and away.

I had the honor of knowing Jimmy personally he was a fanatical fisherman. He would fly half way across the world in the middle of a recording session on his weekend off just to fish with me and other friends then fly back on monday. His brother Dan was part of the duo "England Dan and john Ford Coley" and an accomplished country singer as well. Jimmy Seals also wrote a lot of music for other artists and spent the end of his life in Nashville.

This song was released in the latter part of my senior year (1973) of high school. The lyrics of the song had a real impact my friends and I because we all knew that our lives were about change significantly after graduation. There was certainly some sadness and fear but mostly optimism for the future. Now at 69 years old, this song still teleports me back to that moment in time and those feelings. Fortunately I still have many of those same friends to this day, some 50+ years later and what a ride it has been. Thanks for reacting to this one.

This song has a great message and it’s an excellent example of how to write a great Pop song. They were both devoted to Baha’i Faith which began in the Middle East about 150 or so years ago. They see God in all things. For me their music can best be described as a celebration of life. 🕊❤️🎼

Their song "Ruby Jean and Billie Lee" was written to honor their wives. I don't remember it getting much, if any, radio play so it's not as well known as their bigger hits. What is special about it is that you really get to hear each of their voices separately as they each sing two verses before harmonizing on the final verse. Their high notes are really impressive.

Been waitin' for y'all to get to Seals and Croft. 'Diamond Girl' and Summer Breeze' is Top 40 filler. Their really good stuff comes from deep within the soul. Really good messages for young people, l was one of those once, to help avoid some of the traps of being young and easily suckered. '29 Years From Texas' and 'Windflowers' are real good. 'Desert People' is amazing but it's more amazing if you get the spiritual undertones. You might try 'Unborn Child', that is if you've got the courage. 'Rachel', 'King of Nothing', 'The Story of Her Love', 'Follow Me', 'Ledges', Hell, try 'em all. These are examples of some of the very best, varied, diverse, mature and amazing music from the seventies that helped a whole generation of young people be less stupid, and more intellectually and culturally enriched. I love what y'all do. Doggone it, I wasn't gonna mention this, but for your 'Female Friday, you might want to consider the 'Priest Sisters'. They do a little 'Santa Clause is Coming to Town' that is pretty cool and entertaining, it being the season and such. They're Czech. You might want to 'Czech' them out. Sorry.
