I am so thankful that Aaron's Mom told you to "Jump." I have been following you for a few years, always in your current home. I love your positive energy. You have inspired me so much in my own garden and have given me hope in times of illness. Keep doing you ❤❤❤

The little bit of history was delightful. It is what make your channel so human and warm. My father often reminisced about being 26, newly married and building his own home. He was quite proud of the fact he started with $80 in his pocket, an acre of land (a gift from his father-in-law) and no job. A leap of faith, even in the 50's. And his house still stands. Its nice to hear those leaps of faith and willingness to build on a wing and prayer still exist. As always it is so exciting to see so many gardens, at this time of year especially!

Love these videos and I’ll tell you why….I’ll try and make this short. I’ve always been a Gardner in one way or another since my teens. When I got older I would go to the Philly Flower show ( I live in NJ) and then gush over what I saw. My Aunt, who is a British Gardner, said to me , enjoy the show but remember that that is fantasy. You won’t see tulips blooming with roses in real life etc. she told me then if you want to see reality, go visit real gardens and you’ll see reality, warts and all. This is why I love these videos, your seeing real life gardens and real life solutions to problems and how the real folks do it, not professional gardens that have a professional staff to take of it all. Thanks keeping it real.

I looked at the very first picture and thought, that's the Brick Inn, which is 10 mins. from my house. Sure enough it was. It's fun to see all of the gardens, but to have one so close was awesome. I think I've done a lot with my space until I see all of these beautiful spaces everyone has created. I just keep plugging along with what I have, but you have been such an inspiration to keep going. I really like to hear more of your backstory. It is pretty encouraging to see where you've come from.

Hearing you both telling your back story at the end of this video warms my heart! Most of us can recall that one moment when we had taken that giant leap of faith and made that one "lifestyle decision" that both changed and terrified us the most 😮❤ I did mine 22 yrs ago all alone but with a vision. I was at that transition stage of the kids starting college and me having the opportunity of a lifetime to purchase the "worst house, in the best neighborhood in town". It had all the right bones for my forever house but in need of a lot of work. Like that viewer that bought the property from an elderly couple who could no longer keep up with the overgrown gazebo garden, I too had to rehabilitate a huge overgrown corner lot that the owners had gotten too old to manage, while remodeling and updating everything indoors. The garden rehab was my therapy. Stone walls that became newly terraced gardens from my own version of steep "Widowmaker slopes" the dead dogwoods and cherries that we dug out and replanted with varieties that are now 25ft tall. The arborvitae hedge, the garden gates the perennial beds the vegetable garden the shade garden under the magnolia tree. The pergola I had built to cover the patio. Looking back, it was the best thing I ever did, testing my nerve on how I could handle a very complex and challenging project and grow from it. It taught me organizational and planning skills I never knew I had. Budgeting skills and delayed gratification lessons I could pass on. Like Aaron's mom said, "whats the worst that could happen? You have to sell and move?"

I love these Saturday Morning videos for several reasons. First of course seeing the gardens are so great for ideas. But, I was use to having coffee in the mornings and watching Laura's videos while having breakfast. Now that I am substitute teaching everyday I have to wait until I get home to get my daily "Fix" from Laura and Aaron. Now with the Saturday videos I get to have my "Breakfast With Laura and Aaron" again.

With the exception of people that were born into wealth. Hubby and I should be good, (due to wise decisions and spending habits) for the rest of our lives (knock on wood, no unfores👀n medical issues/expenses arise. 🙏🙏) But, I still choose to buy clearance plants to give them a glorious second chance to shine!!! Thank you to all of the photo submissions of your beautiful gardens!!!!😊🤗🤩 They were all absolutely stunning, regardless of the size! I also loved hearing the conversation between Aaron and you. Think that during these sessions it is a winner combo! Thanks for sharing your garden passion with us. I am just getting started landscaping a property I purchased 2 years ago in zone 9b. It has been very challenging coming from zone 5. I started once before when my area was mostly shade due to wooded lots on the east and south sides of my property plus 5 very large oak trees. Then 2 developers cleared both lots, the city trimmed back my large trees on the electric line and then the last 2 hurricanes took a toll on my very large oak trees in the front yard that eventually had to be removed. I have learned quickly won't work in my yard and have had to research what will. You keep me motivated to continue on gardening.

Enjoying this new branch of Garden Answer! I am getting inspired. Live in So. California, Zone 10. Been here 8 years and just planted one tiny corner of my space last year. My small space is a flower bed surrounding the pool and at its deepest it's 5' (corners of pool and fence) and at it's shallowest it's only 12" so it's really a challenge. One corner gets morning to 1 pm sun, another corner gets 1 pm to sundown sun...it's a challenge. I hope to have something to share with you early summer. You are truly blessed as a result of using wisdom!

We went thru a tornado which whipped out most of our mature oak, elm, pine and ornamental that were providing dappled shade for the understory plants. So we went from more of semi sunny to full blazing sun. We had to scramble to help protect the remaining plants, but it gave us a whole new platform to work with. I planted a bunch of hydrangea trees, hydrangea shrubs of all sizes and other shrubs I previously hadn’t considered. I can’t wait to see what survived the winter. Yay for spring!!!
