Some Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Elevators in what is one of Denver's OLDEST Hotels! The Brown Palace! Built in 1892, this Hotel is one of the very first EVER BUILT to have an ATRIUM, which is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and Historic yet at the same time somewhat Futuristic looking in a way! Now the hotel is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, and they've done an EXCELLENT Job with preserving the place!
The Elevators have unfortunately been modernized multiple times, they were originally installed in 1892 as Manual Westinghouse Elevators, then automated and modded again in the 60s or 70s with Westinghouse Selectomatic Mark IV as suggested by the lobby panel, and the most recent mod which was done by a Generic Company with Innovation Universal was done sometime in the 2000s. Even though it is unfortunate that these elevators have been modernized so many times, these elevators do still have LOTS of Historic Charm such as the ORIGINAL Outer Doors, what are likely the original lanterns on the outside, as well as the ORIGINAL 1892 Westinghouse Elevator Cabs that feature the ORIGINAL Westinghouse Logo and Everything! On the inside, all that's been updated overtime is the fixtures and doors, but otherwise, the cabs are TOTALLY ORIGINAL! Even though I do wish these elevators were still original from at least the 60s/70s Selectomatic Modernization, FORGET THE FIXTURES, these elevators are still awesome and they're incredibly fast and efficient too!
With that all being said, enjoy some VERY TASTEFULLY Modernized Historic Westies!
