These are beautiful motorcycles. Worth the effort to bring back to life. Especially if in complete condition. Congratulations!

@@fuzzyamericanbiker6461This bike is a FLHT, rubber mounted engine. The FLH was a rigid mounted motor 4 speed. I believe 1984 was the last year for the FLH.

Something does not sit right. The dash is like the 1985

These several years used various parts. I spoke to a girl who had an 84 electraglide with an Evo mated to a 4spd tranny solid mounted with enclosed chain. I also saw an early softail with an Evo mated to a four speed, solid mounted with a chain final. The bike above looks like someone may have bought the top-of-line electraglide with the works available at the time. The bags look original. The latches looked like my older 81 police FLH. I believe this one has the 5spd but it depends on assembly dates etc. some models can be rare.

That's definitely not the '84 dash. I have an '85 FLHTC. The 84s & 85s still had the open fairing with the instrument pod on the top of the fork. It was in 86 that they went to this style of fairing. I wondered if this was in fact an 86, but it has the 84 style bags with the signals mounted on the back. That went away on the 85s. Someone went through allot of trouble to mount this fairing. I looked for a new 85 model in 86 specifically because I hated the new 86 fairing. (Edit) Also, the big puffy tour-pak mounted back rest was an 86 addition. That was another thing I wanted to avoid by going for an 85. On mine the back rest is just a small pad, attached to a chrome frame that is part of the seat mount bracket.
