Old (~70) man here. Trying to teach myself piano for the past six years. Played drums and then guitar when I wore a younger man's clothes. What makes piano so difficult, yet so beautiful compared to other instruments is there are so many options! "The hard is what makes it great." I am still trying to figure out the style of playing that is best for me. I am happy just playing simple folk/pop songs around the campfire on guitar. I am trying to find the same thing on piano. 🙂

I have a Pianote yearly subscription and it is just fantastic. If folks out there are interested in a great beginner to advanced level playing course that is both fun and interesting this is the one for you. I have always loved listening and learning from Lisa and her fellow teachers but with the addition of Sangah Nloona, this is a whole new level of coolness. Wow, I can't believe Sangah Noona is with Pianote. And this video was great. I am at a wedding in Minnesota and can hardly wait to go home to the Boston area to my home to try this out. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for this. I just started playing a couple of weeks ago and I look for as much beginner information I can find, then decide which parts I will be able to practice and get good at as a beginner. One thing about this selection was at about the 3 minute mark it went past a beginner lesson. That is good to have for later, but it is past what I'm doing so far.

I wish there were more videos just like this. Lisa has done a similar one using a B-C-G Appregio with the right hand and accompanied with a 1-5-6-4 chord progression with the left hand. It can be improvised on a lot. Really helped me gain some more momentum in my learning path and skill development. Just the kind of thing I think I was needing. I think this kind of approach has the potential to really light a fire under someone. Nice going!

You make me miss playing piano! I'm doing an intensive 6 months program and have barely any time to play, plus i moved to another country and have no instrument with me. In 2023, i'll be free again and i'll be happy to make music again. By the way, since i dont have piano, i have had to relearn the guitar again just so i can have fun with melodies. I wish id brought my flute along but i'm only aiming to focus on my program and im not complaining. Cant wait for next year lol.

A great example of how the power of a changing root note against a static chord creates a unique feeling. To be experienced with all chords, all root notes and you're starting down a Jacob Collier path of sorting out those emotions!
