Beautiful RESTORATION of an ugly MCM sideboard

In this video I restore a free Facebook Midcentury Modern buffet. It was missing its legs and the veneer was completely gone. I replaced the veneer, gave it new legs and cleaned up the brass hardware. New brass pulls completed the look. it is looking shiny and new now.

The way she checked out your gluing technique shows she really cares about the job being done correctly. You are an exceptional woodworker. Amazing job, now I know why good wood furniture is expensive. Now as for the kitten... only those who have a cat know what they do. I have my orange cat here, named Fredy, who used to sleep on top of my bookcase. Previously, the position belonged to a white cat named Pipoca (popcorn) and who lived for 16 years.

Cats chose who they own, she seems to think you must be her human (it's how I ended up with my cat; he decided he'd rather live with me than the person who was feeding him before). Your comment about the cutting of the veneer for the top took five times longer - that cracked me up. It's like doing something with either a small child or an elderly parent - timetable blown. This buffet was ugly. A harsh word, but there is not other way to describe it. But the end result was beautiful. The colors of the wood are beautiful. I love the drawer and door pulls you chose. Added a touch of class to the buffet. Well done Jay.

That is a beautiful transformation. You work very hard at what you do. For me, I would leave the tassel pulls on the doors and swap out a different, less busy pull for the drawers.
