It's a tough reason to be doing the RV trip...but I am really enjoying it! To see the landscape and listen to the music is delightful. Apollo seems to be doing okay and Metacam is a good pain relief. Look after yourself too Silki....love to all the doggies ❤❤❤

Dahlink, it's GOOD news that Apollo is leaving mucus everywhere! That means it's no longer backed up clogging his airways and throat! It's getting out! That's a happy mess LOL Eventually it will go down his throat as it used to, as treatment progresses. Hang in there . . . . he's a tough little pup with a tough mom 🤗💞🐕

Gabapentin is a ‘nerve’ pain killer…it’s primarily prescribed for seizures but is prescribed for those of us who have MS for uncomfortable nerve pain and sensations…I’ve been taking it for many years and have no side effects…but there are initial side effects which wear off after time…however if Apollo is in ‘physical’ pain Gabapentin would not be the first choice for pain relief..I do hope his treatment goes well and he starts feeling better soon God bless him…our dogs are our family and it’s such a worry when they get sick and such a relief when we know they’re on the mend 🙏🏻❤️

Gabapentin took the nerve pain from my ankle, but I experienced slurred speech, muddled thoughts and tremors. Started weaning myself off the Gabapentin and finally got to a dose that didn't affect me so badly...

Hi Silki. You are a good, strong and caring woman for sure. Smart, determined, courageous and organized too. Not really exaggerating either just stating the things I have seen after watching for some time. We had our first snow here in Massachusetts and where I am near the coast it melted by noon. You are seeing a beautiful part of America. The painted rocks are new to me. It could be regional. If the paint is environmentally harmless it can be a fun activity for children perhaps. A different version of putting a note in a bottle and tossing it in the ocean or tied to a balloon and letting it go. The pain med dose might be high and his body is struggling with the treatments. Sending a long distance hug to all. Thanks for showing the staff help at Safeway. We don’t have it here in Massachusetts. The US population is over 345 million, I see Canada population around 40 million. You are in a relatively thinly populated area. Have you visited the large cities? For sure you can reach them in the motor home but here in Boston there are streets I know you could not access. Every August when the students arrive we have rented moving trucks getting “Storrowed”….the bridges on Storrow drive are too low for them, signs are everywhere but……students! They learn a bridge is stronger than the top of the truck. First semester is always a challenge right? 😂 Anyway happy to see things going nicely. Did you get the pain meds changed? 😊

The trees are beautiful covered in light snow / frost. It is so strange you mention this gabapentin because just the other night I learned about gaba the neuro transmitter! In some people gaba doesn't work right and then they get these paradoxical reactions. So I am very surprised to hear you mentioning something with the word "gaba" in it. And how Apollo is moving his head in those tiny motions.. That little tiny swaying. My cats did that when they were either very sick or they came home from the vet from surgery. That stuff they had used on them to knock them out - it made them act that way. Then they would stumble around the house as if drunk. But it was that anesthesia. Boy, good thing my phone knows how to spell that word as I sure don't!!

Te metacam/Mloxicam is more an anti-inflammatory whereas e Gabapentin is or nerve pain and used to ease diabetic neuropathy. With eds its a case of balancing benefits against side effects Im probably "preaching to the converted" but mentioned it in case u didnt know

I have experienced the mucus event. I once had two dogs in my care, one with heartworm and the other with distemper. They both slept with me, they were very sick. My shoulders and hair would be covered with blody mucus in the morning! They both survived, and so did I. I am thinking soft and encouraging thoughts for you and Apollo. Good Luck!❤

🦋🇺🇸 good call on the gabapentin. My doctors had prescribed that to me and I told him I can’t take it but they wouldn’t give me anything else so I took it two days later. I passed out on my kitchen floor and got a concussion. That stuff is nasty.
