Beautiful Shabby Chic Birdhouse Makeover | Trash to Treasure | Easy DIY Project

Let’s take this birdhouse from Drab to Fab! This birdhouse has been on my back patio for years and it’s now warped and faded and in serious need of a makeover. It's the perfect little piece for a Trash to Treasure project.
I begin by painting with several coats of Waverly Chalk Paint in the color Plaster.
Next, we embellish with Iron Orchid Designs Stamps and Moulds, as well as lace, to add character.
Finally, we finish the surfaces with Annie Sloan Clear and Black Waxes to add depth and dimension.
And our gorgeous Shabby Chic transformation is now complete! This will be absolutely lovely in any Spring vignette.

Sarah, I’m so sorry you lost your furry friend! They just grab our hearts and never let go. Our Jack Russell passed 18 months ago and it took some time before we were ready for a new pup. Daisy can now play by herself for a few minutes while I get some crafting and filming done. It was so good to be in my craft room again and I’ll see you soon in my next video!

So cute! Just a question. How many minutes do you wait before you can pick up the moulds to bend and place them to your project?

Thank you so much Colette! Depending on the temperature and humidity, I usually let them set up at least 30 minutes. Sometimes it can take a bit longer. If I’m applying them to a cylindrical surface, like a vase or jar, I don’t let them dry as long and I’m really careful to avoid too much pressure on the clay.
