@@CJCook I definitely agree with the market CJ. Hopefully Red Wing watches this video and takes inspiration, no rush in the meantime. Thanks for drawing attention to this boot. I had seen vintage used Pecos but passed on them prior due to not knowing the construction. If I see one my size, and decent shape I'll try going for it. The only other thing that always baffles me is how Red Wing doesn't put midsoles and leather lining more often? It shouldn't cost that much more and the lining is already on the moc toes and the midsole has been on the Beckman and other models. So they are certainly capable. Any insight into why that might be?

@@Vultain RE: Midsoles I think maybe it is because dirt and mud dry and crack that midsole leather. If folks use the boots and don't keep up on the cleaning and conditioning.

I have noticed that A lot of Older American Made Boot Company's Don't make as many different Style Boots anymore. Look at Chippewa Boot they don't make any Heritage Boots anymore.

@@CJCook That makes sense, typically few people do that and use or even have edge dressing. Saphir's Resin Edge dressing seals in against water the best I found but it is a pain to remove. That said you are right about dust, mud, and water getting in-between the layers otherwise. Too bad really, I think it is a missed opportunity to educate the customer and sell another potential care product.

Simply beautiful! In my opinion, I think the stiffness in the leather is due to the quality of the leather and not due to age. I have several pair of vintage boots purchased from EBay and similar; the quality of the leather tends to be better, on average, compared to contemporary boots. I am so bummed that I can't fit into that size otherwise I'd buy them right off the bat. Another great showing1 Thanks C.J. Be a Boot. :)
