Such a talent, such a beautiful human being. That sweet, shiny innocence was eventually somewhat worn away, though, as life and her own decisions knocked her around. Such a shame to lose her so young... 💔 Her voice takes me somewhere else, though, it always has. Hits me right in the chest. One of the GOATs. You can't go wrong with anything you react to of hers.

Actually whitney did a cover from the jazz/r&b legend George Benson artist singer & musician he played guitar and whatever else. His original version is awesome he need to be unravel to be discover. I know you don't care for jazz music but that genre is not appreciate or understanding of true musicianship. Because is not pop or rock when is most standard notes but is good to have a open ear 😄

The Lord is my Shephard, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For Thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psa 23 A memory verse May the Lord bless thee and keep thee, friend. Truly and honestly the only way that you can do anything in this world properly is to love yourself first. Once you can achieve that you can really do great things❤ if you don't love yourself all of the very bad things come creeping in, jealousy, envy and always wishing that you were something else😔

I was born and raised in a Christian Catholic household and I wouldn't change it for anything. In my case it taught me how to respect people and love people and do the right thing. There has to be a certain amount of fear of doing wrong otherwise we would always do wrong without any feeling of repercussion. I know a lot of people may feel differently but that was just my experience❤

This song was in the 80's and is a cover for the original artist who sang it. Early in Whitney's career, she did not write or participate in writings of songs but her voice was so magical that lots of artists back then who did not have the proper visibility would not hesitate to give her the songs while the main artist kept the credit. Her voice was that special from the get go. It is in the late 90"s from her album : ''my love is your love'' that there was a shift to more songs with a R&B influence and her being more involved in the lyrical parts of her songs. She was no longer at her peak in the 2000's until her untimely death but still had some nice hits.

Really great commentary regarding shame and religion. I find it very strange cause if you believe that God is love, then there should be no fear in love and yet for example in the church it is full of judgement of outsiders and of each other. I do think that comes from being human and being afraid of the unknown/ what you cannot control....but whether you have faith or not, we all stumble in life, it's part of the journey...but as humans it's like we feel safer when we can put people in a box. You made excellent points about children too....that's our true nature before the "rules." And I agree people do put themselves in chains when they live by "I should." Hurt people hurt people and that's why we choose fear over love yet love is the only way to heal ourselves and others. Regarding the song...I love the message and it's true what you said...it's simple but we definitely don't do it often enough (ie: be kind to ourselves)

I love how philosophical & existential some of these songs are for you. The religion perspective I 💯 AGREE with you! It's crazy how something that was intended for 'good' can be manipulated for evil. I was raised religious but now I say I'm 'spiritual' not religious. The hugging thing was also funny - I'm American but lived abroad for a while and it took me a while to get used to other men full on hugging me, or sitting in a restaurant and another guy sits right next to you in a booth without breaking 'guy code'. HAHA 🤣 In the U.S. we have a 'bubble' but in Europe and even the UAE it was all 'Love' and expressing it unapologetically! -- But yeah, if you made it to the end of this comment, DEF react to Whitney LIVE performances. If you think hearing her in a recording is amazing 👀 she was UNreal live!

Yes, that's her mother, the amazing CeCe Houston. CeCe is an incomparable vocalist herself. Her amazing soprano can be heard on Aretha Franklin's hit Ain't No Way (for me to love you). That's CeCe Houston belting out that soprano so high it's in the rafters. CeCe was a sought after background singer for many big names for many years. She went on to lead one of the most famous gospel choirs, winning her own Grammy. And of course Whitney was right at her mother's side, singing all the way. CeCe is an awesome vocalist and pianist and she raised a child with a voice touched by God. Shout out to CeCe Houston, RIP and Love Forever to Whitney Houston. ❤❤

Please react to Whitney live performances. She was not a video artist. One thing to keep in mind is that Whitney's record label wanted to "water down" her sound so she could have more crossover appeal. As such, she was not allowed to show what she could really do with her voice in the studio. She got a lot of flack for this from black audiences who called "whitey houston". However, when she performed live, her real talent showed and it is because of her LIVE performances she is called The Voice! So its frustrating to watch you only react to her music videos like she's madonna or something. You are only getting the tip of the iceberg. Whitney was one of the few artists who was always better live than her studio work.

this is by far one of the most thought provoking songs ever composed. all in the lyrics makes sense. you show them the beauty they possess inside, it can be referred to us because without that beauty you cannot find yourself, and finding yourself you can achieve many things and that is learning to love yourself. loving yourself means to forgive yourself and accept that you are human and you are you. by learning to love yourself you are letting go of pride, envy, jealousy, releases stress and you can learn to love others

This is how I'll remember the great Whitney Houston and her artistry in bringing meaning to lyrics and having the wisdom to represent that idea for the listener to be imparted with. Even though this song is a cover from Michael Masser eight years prior, she injected that wisdom into the whole thing just as she did with Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You. This is my signature song for her. So much elegance and beauty in this song and the music video. The lyrics are really something and hearing your story about children, teaching and imparting wisdom through fatherhood. Nice! The last lyrics to the song speaks to me - find your place in love! Yup. World needs a lot of this message now thats a much lonelier place without her presence.

You talking about the issue about loneliness actually hit me quite gravely because that's something I struggle with from time to time. For me it's like while growing up, you see certain individuals where it seems like almost everyone are just drawn to & it made me start to question about what does he/she actually have that make people so drawn to them? That's where I start to think when I'm alone & eventually I slowly begin to resent myself for not being able to do the same. So long story short, I got into drinking & all those kind of stuff & I have just recently found myself spiritually again. And this has helped me to view this problem from a different angle & I don't take it really seriously anymore. But that actually took me by surprise though, hearing you talking about this kind of issues. I like that.

I’ve been following your channel for a while and being gay, religion has screwed me up my entire life and my family has always been immersed in traditional discriminating beliefs that have affected me so much. I don’t believe in morality as well. I am trying to cope with my depression and anxiety and self-consciouness and it’s been a tough journey. I don’t wanna sound like a freak but somehow I connect so much with you that I think you and I would be good friends and talk about how life is a tough game. Anton, listens to the greasiest love all; starts talking about murder! I guess I have to respect the power of the song and the emotions it can illicit. Song homework: I wanna dance with somebody, live totp. Run to you One moment in time, Grammys

This was one of her first hits, the greatest voice of all time, church singer, daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston. If you want wisdom, don't listen to this. Listen to her song Didn't Know My Own Strength, after she lost her voice, her career, her family, recovered from cocaine and crack addiction and tried to relaunch her career not realizing how beloved she was by the public. THAT song and performance on Oprah, will show you how she went through the ringer and came out the other side, only to so tragically be lost again.
Final muy increíble 😱
