Kevin, you take the stress out of cleaning! One of the many things I like about your videos is afternoon tea. I grew up in Lake Tahoe but we were poor as church mice. My Mom made sure we had afternoon tea, a luxury for us but it made me feel like royalty. In the late spring and summertime when the afternoon thunder & lightning storms hit, we would make a thermos if hot tea and go to the bakery & purchase one bear claw to split between my Mom, sister & I. We would sit in awe of the lightning over Lake Tahoe & of course feeling like royalty because of our tea. It is still my favorite afternoon calm. I thank my Mom for that gift of "royalty" & I thank you also for afternoon tea in your videos.❤

just ordered the fresh berries, I've a few tricks, been them making these for years. I always add some lemon zest, mixing a littleflour with the berries will keep batter from turning blue. then add some cinnamon to the sugar topping and dip in melted butter.

I don't mix in the blueberries with the batter. I drop in some batter to the muffin tins, then drop in blueberries and finish off with more batter. Anything to avoid the batter turning blue! Thanks for your tip!!!

This is what I do as well. Love the zing of the lemon zest. Melted butter and sugar on top. Will have to try adding cinnamon! Very relaxing video...as I didn't actually have to clean. 😊

Kevin, as a baker, I always enjoy the nuances and variations you bring to your baked goods. I must tell you that I found the best parchment muffin tin liners on Amazon. They are nonstick so no oil spray is necessary. I usually order several boxes at a time.

Seriously, I was saying to a friend only yesterday that I haven't made muffins in what seems like forever, and I used to all the time. I've never greased paper cups, but I can see why you did, given the density of that batter. Your dining room hutch/sideboard reminds me of one I picked up at an antique shop years ago and had refinished. When we relocated, one of the legs broke, and we had to have it professionally repaired, as pieces like that are tough to move. Finally, just imagine how cold that dining room would have been on a February day 150 years ago. I doubt it was used much in winter months...much like the music room. Large spaces with fireplaces sending heat right up the chimneys. I can see the family gathering together in the parlour instead...with a blazing fire and the pocket doors shut.

i just found you today and what a great idea! I have a cobalt blue and white soup tureen that I never use anymore and was considering donating it but I think I will look for some potted orchids to put in it to be a lasting arrangement and maybe a couple of little ivy plants. My furniture is much the same as yours and because of my cat I've had to touch up the top with some scratch cover on occasion. Your cat is adorable! I have a darker art piece like yours above the fire and you have convinced me to keep it as well, even though it is tucked away for now while I have a brighter piece up for a change. May I just suggest, a polish up of the stone/marble floor in front of the fire with your Murphy's solution would brighten the area. Thank you for your tips as I'm doing a clean through myself right now too!

The lavender and lemon in the muffins sounds so delicious and putting the Demerara sugar on before going into the oven makes all the difference. You’ll never catch me moving furniture from one room to another to dust and vacuum but I admire your tenacity in doing so and I agree you get to appreciate your finer things when dusting.
