Geneva Heritage cornet with a Yamaha 16E mouthpiece. Both quite old fashioned designs.

Gordon can you point me in the direction of modified K tonguing. I have started practicing slurs every day now but trying to fully understand modified k tonguing. What are your views on this?

@@davidstorey2477 Not come across that. I don't K tongue. I think there was a mistranslation of Arban. I do D-G-D for triple tonguing. I also anchor tongue so I'm not articulating with the tip of my tongue at all. Also, I raise my tongue level at the front (like whistling) so my throat doesn't get restricted. I just developed this way naturally.

I believe that is k modified. I now try to anchor the tongue at the front for scales etc. Thank you

@@davidstorey2477 It does have to move but anchoring it works for me. It's surprising how many of the top players play that way when you ask them .

Nice. Have you ever played a F. Besson Paris cornet mpc? What number?

No, never seen one. As they haven't been made for a long time they are likely to be quite small by modern standards. They also might be the smaller fitting and not fit some modern cornets. My Courtois mouthpiece doesn't fit this cornet.
