Sometimes, i feel like my skin tone is so so so unique when it comes to finding the right foundation lol.

It's so important to choose the right shade! Women usually don't know about the warm/neutral/cool guide, it's great to say it! Perfect video as always :)
@melissajeannek10 жыл бұрын
I also lightly bring some bronzer on my neck. It helps the blend.

This addressed a lot of my issues with foundation. It feels like so much work to do to get the perfect match of foundation but it makes a world of difference. I've yet to find the perfect shade in drugstore foundation but I'm getting close ;)
@stargazer1710 жыл бұрын
The other issue that makes foundation hard to match is store lighting. I end up going outside with a mirror to check true color. Thank goodness, most stores in US let us return product!
@18rumple10 жыл бұрын
I'm super pale but I have a warm undertone, like a yellowy pale as opposed to a pink pale. It makes finding foundation pretty tough sometimes!
@MarlenaStell10 жыл бұрын
I'm a bit like that too, so you will wear a W10 if you can find that. In Revlon Colorstay you'll be in the 100's range but get the one that says "warm" or something like that. For Estee Lauder Double Wear, you'll be W1 or W2
@purpledarklighter10 жыл бұрын
I'm also yellowy pale, I'm using Sand Beige- 180 in Revlon Colorstay [oily\combination, on the dry formula the shades are darker]. The Buff -150 one sometimes matches my face but then it doesn't match my body, it'd probably match you judging by the picture. Hard to find other drugstore brand foundations, everything is either pink or orange :S

I'm NC15 (ish) in MAC, which is super pale with a yellow undertone. I'm 1W1 Bone in Estee Lauder Double Wear.
@TaylorDoesStuff1910 жыл бұрын
I'm the exact same! I find that Revlon Colorstay 150 Buff works the best, any darker or lighter and I look a mess. Might I also recommend using a dampened makeup sponge to apply it. Works perfectly.

To be honest, EVERY time I've gotten my foundation matched (we're talking 8-10 times at different places!) the shade is horrendously off, maybe I just have awful luck :/ love the neck tip! I have never thought of that, but it's pretty genius!
@SalvaDORKiann10 жыл бұрын
Feel the same way!!! It could be the lighting in the store :/
@vanessadicenzo75910 жыл бұрын
The lighting in most Sephoras and department stores is horrible! Next time you're looking for a foundation get one of the artists to try it on you and go outside in the natural light to see if the shade really does match.
@TheOtherParker10 жыл бұрын
Vanessa Di Cenzo Yep, I definitely do before I invest any money! Honestly I prefer when I can get a couple samples to try myself. I swear though, some of those girls want to make me look like an oompa loompa! Store lighting bad or not, I do not need a foundation four shades darker than my body haha
@CatlinVisconti10 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem at Sephora last time I went in there they put such a yellow foundation on me and I about cried lol. I was like ahhh I'm going to keep looking thanks.
@mdkushida10 жыл бұрын
Same problem for me...I wish those girls were a little more empathetic, most of them I found are rude or impatient...which puts me off and that's why I prefer to get samples to be able to test a foundation/concealer myself, with my own research.

@michellekelly293710 жыл бұрын
I never buy a foundation without getting a sample first so that I can try it at home for a couple of days. You need to make sure it is the right shade and that you like how it looks on your skin. Some foundations are so expensive, so I want to make sure I love it before I buy a full size bottle. Don't buy unless you can get a sample first.
@ohheyantonia10 жыл бұрын
you can't get samples at chemists/kmart/target etc and almost all foundations are $20+... i don't really buy high end foundations but if i did i would definitely get colour matched and a sample to take home
@sedaher075710 жыл бұрын
Drug store brands may offer samples directly thru their websites. I'd advise you to take a look and see about requesting some.

Angeline Galvan A tip to find your undertone is to look at the veins on the inside of your wrists. If they appear green you're a warm undertone. If they appear blue you're cool. If you can't really tell, then you're probably neutral. That trick works for me most of the time. Another one is jewelry. If you look better with gold you're warm. Silver is cool. Hope that helped.

Love beauty bites, so informative Marlena! Sephora is a great store to try out products however it depends on who you get; sometimes the sales person who has helped me match foundation has the foundation "line" at their neck, which doesn't give me much confidence in their opinion/ suggestions. It's a 50/50 shot!
