Ive noticed that as I was raising my child, I needed a lot less external change, especially in his younger years, and I relied on a lot of old standbys to relieve decision fatigue. As an empty nester, I feel like Ive settled into a balanced place of finally trusting that what I like sensorially (is that a word?) is more important than most new revolutions in skincare, or trends in scent, color, etc. You may find backups become a valuable source of comfort & save you money in the long run. I strongly believe in regular updates when my needs in life change, or my skin does, but managing a constantly changing lineup of anything feels less doable or desirable these days. I love how my beauty phases are so linked to everything else in life, it's an interesting way to see one's personal history.

I live in Germany, where some of the products are made and they have a huge medicinal garden, so it's almost local and much cheaper. If you want a lighter, more hydrating option from RMS, I would actually recommend the UnCoverup concealer! It works as a concealer obviously but can also be sheered out for more of a foundation effect. For me it serves as a slightly stiffer, higher-coverage version of the Salt NY Sneaky Balm. It does also contain coconut oil and is very hydrating, but in my experience it takes powder quite well.

@@beatdizzy Oh, absolutely. I love the school's approach to art and dance, for example. I also love the attentiveness to the person in anthroposophic medicine. Where else do you find doctors who have time for their patients. However, I don't love the general basis of anthroposophy which is rooted in esoteric and occultistic beliefs and spiritual concepts that are - in my opinion - not all humanitarian. A lot of anthroposophs have not worn masks during the covid pandemic and also did not vaccinate because covid was seen as natural selection that only affected weak and therefore unworthy life. Sounds to me very rude and a bit like the Herrenrasse ideology of Germany 1939-1945. And don't even get me started on homeopathy. No thanks.
@d.-beck720511 ай бұрын
@@HannahLouisePoston Arnica is a natural medicine which has anti inflammatory effects. There is a connection between Waldorf and anthroposophy and homeopathy, where an alleged 'spiritual essence' of a medicinal plant or mineral is won by its dilution in water, which is repeated so often that in the end there is no active ingredient left, only the 'spiritual essence'. Homeopathic arnica globuli don't contain arnica. It is non scientific hokus pokus, if you asked me. This has been invented also not by Weleda, but Weleda is owned exclusively by anthroposophs and produces homeopathic substances besides their (super) wellness body products. That is the connection.

I feel like there are a lot of hair products that people are using/buying/recommending that are a step just for the sake of adding another step. I’m sure a scalp exfoliation step is necessary for someone, I don’t think I happen to know them but I’m sure they exist and their experience is valid. For me personally, someone with wavy/curly hair who mostly air dries, uses very little product, and washes their hair once a week (ish, it gets washed when it needs it), I use a regular shampoo and conditioner, a lightweight primer/detangler in the winter when my scalp and hair tend to be very dry/staticky, occasionally a gel or a curl cream, I avoid dry shampoo and hairspray like the plague, and that’s it. I don’t use a clarifying shampoo (it isn’t necessary for me). I certainly don’t need a scalp exfoliator. It just seems like a solution in search of a problem that, for most people, probably doesn’t exist.

One of your previous empties videos made me try the rèphr moisturizers-I have the light hydration cream 2.0 and the intense hydration cream 1.0. Haven't tried the milky essence but I am intrigued to do so sometime. The intense hydration cream is my go-to nighttime moisturizer. It's so thick, occlusive, and luxurious. I have 3 backups (I got them when there was a big sale, ok??) and foresee myself using it for a long time in the future. I haven't tried it under makeup but I don't know if it would perform well, since it's so heavy and forms a layer on top of the skin that takes a long time to soak in. My skin feels amazing in the morning though (for reference, I'd say I have a normal, slightly sensitive skin type-tending toward dry right now in the winter-but spring-fall I wouldn't consider it to be dry or oily). In contrast, the light hydration cream is my go-to morning moisturizer, and just as its name implies, it's very hydrating while being light and easily absorbed. It's a much thinner consistency. This one I find is an amazing base underneath makeup-once soaked in, it leaves behind a lovely smoothed, almost powdery finish on the skin. Note that I don't typically wear much makeup: usually just a tiny tiny amount of concealer and a light dusting of powder bronzer and/or blush (and sometimes a bit of Auric Glow Lust). So I can't speak on the light hydration cream as a base for a full face, but for the small amount I do, it makes a great primer. My one qualm with it is the scent-both moisturizers are unscented, but the light hydration cream smells sort of like chlorine to me???? I got used to it after a few days (and the scent doesn't linger after application), but it was really off-putting to me at first. In comparison, the intense hydration cream almost has no scent, maybe just a hint of powdery-ness. And speaking on how much product is in the tube: I got them both at the beginning of August. The intense hydration cream I've used basically nightly and have almost finished the first tube. On the other hand, the light hydration cream still has a lot of product in the tube-I want to say at least two thirds are left. I haven't used that one as consistently; I have another daytime moisturizer I'm trying to use up and I don't always have time for more than sunscreen in the morning. Another difference between the two is the consistency-since the intense cream is so thick, I feel I need more to coat my whole face, while the thinner light cream spreads further and so I use less at a time. All that to say..... I think it's a Joe issue 😂
