Beauty Obsession

The timing of this Bible Study (because you referred to scriptures) is so perfect. I am a high school teacher. The way that I see these girls from the ages of 15-18 view themselves is so scary. I do know that you referred to surgeries alot, but even simple things as their eyelashes cause them grief. The girls work all week after school, making minimum wages, only to spend their entire checks on lashes, or nail enhancements, wigs and other things. I too lately fell victim to being when my nails were not done. This morning, prior to watching your video, I just prayed about why I think like this about something so simple. I decided that a nail salon visit does not equate properly taking care of myself, as the enemy had me believing. There are so many other things that I can do to take care of my body. While this is personal to me, your video has given me ideas on how to minister to my students. I will refer to the same scriptures that you used and study for more. We start school on 12 August, and now I am excited to have an aresenal of Biblical help! Thank you so much for sharing this!

The irony is "beautiful woman" despite the title of the video. We women cannot escape the need for beauty. Even Christian men will ignore us if we don't have it in that department. But I get the point, we need to balance getting obsessed even though beauty will determine whether or not we can even get to have a family which is a big part of life. God help us.

What a perfect topic for a Devotional! I have varicose veins on my legs and I've had phlebectomies on both, (over 30 incisions on each). I refuse to wear shorts or swimwear in public because I am self conscious. My Husband says, "Baby, your legs aren't that bad. There's gals at the grocery store with legs much worse than yours. Just be grateful you have legs...." And my reply was, "what are you doing looking at women's legs?" (*!*) Have a blessed week my friend!
