Good point Tom in-re horse trading away manifesto promises in government formation talks, as opposed to the UK. However, the number of coalition governments in the UK are far less than here, ever since the first inter-party government of John A. Costello et al in the 1940s... I think for example, FG and Labour alone, we're in government 11 times with each other, most governments in the UK have been single party majorities. You could make the argument that the back bench MP in the UK is far more likely to vote against his/her own government than here!! Back bench rebellions are common place there, not so much here! When it comes to straws keep in mind its suspected its the amount of plastic in our lives and bodys could be the cause of low Testosterone. To be fair paper straws could have a wax or just come apart as you use them and ending up in your system also. Perhaps consider a metal, glass or ceramic version.

Beauty pageants...interesting that we have a tax payer funded beauty pageant called African Queen Ireland. Now, indigenous Irish girls are not allowed entry. Yet Africans etc can enter Rose of Tralee, Miss Ireland, ANY Irish pageant, with all the positive discrimination Africans etc are given here they've a much better chance of winning. So the question is, if Africans can enter with advantage all the Irish beauty pageants, because it would be discrimination or whatever to exclude them, how come they blatantly exclude all Irish from their competitions - which are funded by Irish tax - here?
