Michael taught a class for Sexy Hair in Atlanta for 40 people one time. I was one of 5 educators chosen to help with the class. Michael was uncomfortable with that many people as one of the things he enjoyed doing was touching everyone as he taught and with 40 people, there was no way he could do this. He trusted in the five of us to be his hands and together we all pulled it off successfully. When he was finished with the class, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. He was so inspirational!

@BeautyHealthTravel I left Sexy to work with Michael. After working and traveling for three years with Sexy and one with Michael, I felt I was neglecting my life back home so I'm currently taking a brake. Now I serve on the Board of Advisors at a couple of the cosmetology schools here in Augusta sharing what i have learned with future professionals. In addition, I am currently opening my own salon very soon. I still carry only MOR product in my salon

A lot of products in our industry start for the hairdressers and then get diversified, hurting the same hairdressers who worked so hard to make the products and the company known to the consumer. It feels like they are betrayed. I am glad that Michael O'Rourke is more about the hairdressers and education. Yes, money is an important factor; buy money with integrity is even greater! Thank you for sharing your experiences ; it is highly appreciated.

@natlyvadam If you plan to come next year in February, Los Angeles has the ISSE Show (International Salon and Spa Expo) in Long Beach. He always attends; and there are many good demos on those 3 days that the show is held. Also this summer, on July 29, there is the same show in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, watch this channel, it has many segments from cosmetology shows and demos.

When Michael started Sexy Hair, there came a point where he required additional income and sought the help of several investors. Once on board, they began controlling what Michael could and could not do and the company that was built on art became a company more concerned with numbers. Michael hated this as he loves people so much and sold his share in 2007. When he started his new company, he vowed never to deal with investors again. He wishes to always remain a small company about the people.
