I thank you for showing me this. I graduated in 2012 from Cos School, but I still find it hard to cut layers. You made it look so much easier.

@TheRainyDayReader I am sorry about your haircut experience. I usually don't cut hair for clients, but I teach haircuts every day for my students. There are great hair cutters out there, you just need to tell them to leave the perimeter out next time to get your haircut. Tell them to cut the guideline at 0 degree, and leave it alone. The rest of the haircut could be layered, but the initial guideline needs to stay as is. I hope you get a better haircut next time. Keep in touch. Good luck!

LOL Is your hair thick and straight? If so, You are right, it needs more layers off the back of the head and the front, as you stated. If anyone has thin but curly hair, some hair has to be left on the zero level to better shape the first line of the haircut.

Seems like you have dense hair with thin diameter. Layers will work well; tell your stylist to cut well blended long layers. Your slight waves will not interfere with your layer haircut; in fact, they will complement the haircut with some volume. Let me know it came out when you get your haircut. :)

Yes, in a way, because the head is round, so the whole layer haircut needs to be balanced. I am not sure about the name curve cutting, though, but I connected the two dots to blend the hair. Thanks for watching!

That could be difficult if you are not an experienced hairdresser, but I know a lot of hairdressers that cut their own hair.

the strands themselves aren't thick, but the bulk is. if that makes sense. my hair is very dense. and has the slightest wave, barely a wave at all. so yes, it's straight also. lol. oddly enough, my front always had more weight when cut like the video as opposed to how it's cut now. what would i tell the stylist to have it cut similar to this with long, blended layers? the layers now are far too disconnected.

@poisoncupcake74 Thank you, my friend, you make my day every time you write me a comment! =)

ah! my old stylist used to cut my hair similar to this! my hair is relatively fine, but i have a lot of it so i HATE too much bulk in the bottom b/c it literally feels like a giant hunk of hair and it always flips out and looks funny now b/c it's not layered enough and blended enough. it one giant bottom chunk and a teeny tiny chunk a little bit above it. it's like i'm 12 again :'( not to mention my front "layers" are barely there and were cut with a razor. so sad. need an extra model? lol

where do you live? can YOU cut my hair? I just got a HORRIBLE haircut where she didn't leave out the perimeter in the front, and I ended up with a big gap in the front layers where they were actually long in back short near my ears and longer again in the front. ugh!
