Ahh loved this so much, I've been really into nyc at winter/Christmas vlogs lately and just rewatchted your nyc vlogs from when you went with your mum a couple of years ago, and then a couple of days later you drop on Instagram that you're going to new york.... Honestly it's like you just know what exact video I'd love to watch 😂

It's called Madison Sq Garden because the original building was in Madison Sqaure (like Herald Sq, Times Sq, etc.) which is a small intersection on the East Side of Manhattan. There is a beautiful little park there called Madison Square Park. But then it expanded and moved to the current location but kept the name Madison Square, and the word "garden" had an older English meaning of large space for public events but that meaning is not really used anymore. Incidentally, it was built after our old Penn Station was torn down (google it) in the 60s. It was one of the most beautiful train stations in North America. The loss of the old Penn Station gave birth to our preservation laws so something so beautiful can't just be torn down so easily anymore. But they tore it down and built the current Penn Station with MSG at its base. Luckily we still have beautiful Grand Central Terminal which I hope you got to visit. (And Madison comes from the name of our 4th president, James Madison.)

Oooh - have the best time! I think somewhere in midtown is the best location especially if it’s your first time visiting coz you’re super near to everything!! We stayed on 38th and 5th and found that really ideal!!

I would say higher honestly, the tipping culture and the way they do tax in the US puts all the costs up by a lot when it comes to paying I think!
