As someone who is in leadership at a retail store; self check outs are NOT taking jobs away from anyone! I promise. This just gives us more help throughout the store. Whether it be someone helping out at the deli counter, frying some chicken, shopping curbside, or just stocking the shelves. There are so many jobs within a retail location that need to be done. Self checkouts help the rest of the store out.

I just roll my eyes when people make that statement. It proves their ignorance about how things work. They are just repeating what they’ve heard from one ignorant source, instead of looking it up on their own. Which is what most people on the internet continue to do about most things they hear on the internet. My husband used install/repair Walmart self checks. The amount of work and people behind them is not small, so creating jobs. And good ones at that! So it’s good to know that that extends to the actual store as well.

We need more of "doesn't have to be perfect, just has to be done" in cleaning/organizing videos around KZbin and Instagram ❤ sometimes these picture perfect organisation videos make me more unmotivated to do anything as I know I would not be able to get things to that point of perfection.... Also a small advice - keeping fresh products (fruits and veggies) in the fridge bins helps them stay fresh for longer as they don't get a thermal shock every time you open the fridge :)

Try Simple Modern brand reusable pouches. I put in my own applesauce or pureed fruit/veggies. Holds more and I can wash the squeeze bags. So inexpensive! We even do flavored applesauce. Saves me a ton of cash.

I tend to grocery shop weekly at Shaws, and then The Big Y. I go to Trader Joe’s every other Thursday, the other Thursday I go to Aldi. Love their Aisle of Shame. lol. Those wide mouth lids are gorgeous, so glad you found them. We, too, have the GE cafe refrigerator, so small, but we have a fridge in the garage and a stand up freezer in the basement. I love target groceries & Sams Club. But we live in a very small town so we go based on our options. We have our hometown grocery store & a Walmart. I don’t love Walmart for foods but I do our local hometown store and then when we get to our larger town we utilize our Sam’s Club for diapers, and bulk items. Love ya’ll so much! I absolutely hate self checkout if I have more than 4 items. I’ve been sending in emails to the grocery and drug stores I go to telling head office I hate it as well. I love getting to know familiar cashiers, have quick chat etc. It’s part of what builds a community and I don’t want to see that lost.

We are doing no spend January and I started December 1st cooking all our meals (we usually do dinner out once a week so I eliminated that) and I’m just following through to February and limiting coffees out. I got a dry erase calendar to write down our dinners for the month
