I have enjoyed your post from the beginning. When you changed things up and started, in the beginning of the post, showing the dam collapse and the result of the drainage there was no reason to finish watching because we knew the outcome. What got me hooked watching your videos was the anticipation of will the dam collapse. Keep up the great work. Greetings from Kentucky, USA.

Hi from the UK. Another great removal 😊👍 I was wondering if you have ever considered removing part of the rear of the dam before you remove the front ,it might make the collapse more spectacular.
@terryhatcher96448 ай бұрын
Sounded like a lot of stones inside the dam. That looked like the water level went down fast. Nice collapse but there was a lot of mud still behind the dam you had to dig out. It must be an older one. Happy Easter, and may your family, friends, and especially The Elfa enjoy it.

Hey my Brother from another Country you are the best in the business when it comes to collapsing dams!!! Really, really like watching you take these down and, watching the large amounts of water you release. Like mini ocean tidal waves! Great work. Great channel! PS. Also, an excellent idea to dig a trench back to the deep part of the pool so that much more water can drain just like you do. And if all your dams was this easy to dig it would really be nice. Kudos!

Very smart to purchase the electric saw. That is a great compromise between safety and effort and I am sure it is much lighter than a gas chainsaw! It was pretty obvious that dam had a problem once you got the sticks out of the way with all that water coming from what looked like the bottom of the dam. It turned out to really be the middel but it was obvious the dam had a weak spot, and of course you took advantage of it!

The first time I saw one of those mini chainsaws was on videos where they do landscape makeovers. There are always tons of overgrown shrubs and low tree branches that need to be cut. There is also some handheld battery powered pruners that I think every rose grower should have. Great to see how this dam collapsed.

You are nearing expert status of beaver dam collapses!
@MikkellTheImmortal4 ай бұрын
I was reading a bit about the mentality of Beavers and their dam building habits, apparently when they build against trees and you cut the trees they are less likely to build there again because they think that not only was the dam material no good but also the spot because now the dam and trees are gone. But I'm not a beaver and I will not say that it is an always thing.
@Kenislovas4 ай бұрын
They use whatever they can find around ;)
@MikkellTheImmortal4 ай бұрын
@@Kenislovas pretty much. I found a small dam yesterday that was made with all the normal stuff like mud, rocks and sticks but this one had an added split firewood to the dam. Unfortunately the city destroyed it with an excavator when I went back to it with my son to show him how they build dams and teach him about dams and beaver dams. The city workers also did a very bad job, I think you would be disappointed in their work.
@vanleister49598 ай бұрын
I see you tossing the stick away from the dams. Some of those look like great walking sticks. You should have a way to carry 6 or so back to your home and clean them up and figure a way to sell them. I'd buy one, and use it.

I've noticed that many of the streams you open up, seems to have some kind of man made narrowing passage. In this video it looks like there has been dug a broad water way, and then the digging suddenly stops in a almost flat end. Is this the way these waterways are constructed, and if so, do you know the reason why? It seems like it is something that easily would clog up again.
