Good observation. There were some trees in the back round surrounding the farm fields. But it was mostly clay and mud.

Thats a good habitant for fish and it serve as a basin as well to trap water so plants can have water and thrive too.

Hi Rosario. Great question. I am a licensed trapper hired by our township to do this. It is actually a farmers hay field. What you are seeing there used to be 5' wide ditch to drain the hay fields. The beavers moved in and backed up the water to the point it is causing a loss to the farmer. This is right along side a hiway and eventually the water will overtake the road.
