Beavers (Beeaaverrrss)

Beavers are coming along. It turns out they are more complicated than one might expect. First of all, they are semi-aquatic so their movement patterns and behaviors are different than all the other WolfQuest animals - as is how wolves hunt them. We are drawing on recent discoveries by the Voyageurs Wolf Project about wolf predation on beavers, which means a new hunting mode: ambush! As always, Tommi is crafting the balance of naturalistic behavior and fun gameplay. Beavers should be ready to release…pretty soon!

WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition is available now for PC/Mac on Steam and itch.io, as Early Access. The game currently includes Episode 1: Amethyst Mountain, Episode 2: Slough Creek, Lost River: Classic, and multiplayer mode in Amethyst and Lost River. (Slough Creek multiplayer is coming soon,.) The mobile version will come after the game (including Slough Creek) is completed on PC/Mac platforms. The next episode, Tower Fall (DLC) will follow. We do not announce specific release dates. @@WolfQuestGame Yeah, Beaver can be quick things - one wouldn't expect if they hadn't seen a beaver up close before. My best friend and I actually saw one right up close years ago, my dad too. Got pretty close, beaver eventually decided to spring speed into the water slapping water with it's tail - I know that's an alert call.

Such a cool feature to add! I recently saw a coyote with a pretty significant gouge on its face, which my zoology professor actually suggested may be from a beaver bite! Probably had an unfortunate run in.

I think this will be my cup of tea honestly. There is a quite impressive animal survival simulator game on roblox known as Testing A. Back in the old days of that game, I spent, I kid you not, more than an hour stalking one herd of player zebras as a lion. They additionally were out in the open with only a few bushes to hide in, and a vulture scout (also a player) to watch out for predators. I didn't check the time, because I was too focused on the movement of the bird (it's key to move only when the bird banks the other way) and I did actually manage to get close enough....and failed. But for whatever reason, they circled back ? I was moving and following them because I do not give up easy, and they circled back around, so I managed to snag one. Me and the vulture scout shared the body, it even complimented me. Bit of an anticlimactic ending, guess their expectations of me were low, they thought I would just give up and they could go back. So yeah, I'm a pretty stubborn person, I love slowly stalking prey, it's great. Or even just waiting for them to come along! Great game mechanic, I love the progression of this game.

I still do this- I see a zebra or a herd of prey and start stalking one. I like to play as realistic as I can so I run in and get the zebra I want away from the rest. After that, I begin stalking it and once it stops to eat or drink I quickly stalk behind it and spring. Its a nice balance between skill and luck for me

I'm so excited for beavers to come to the game! I was so surprise that wolves hunt beaver! I've never heard of it happening before, and now that I have, I need to do several hours of my own research and look at spots in Yellowstone to try and find where the beaver are. Small question, once you have a beaver carcass, would you be able to pick that up and take it to the pups for them to eat?

Ima tell you guys about one of my special wolves. A long long long time ago like months and months ago I had a wolf name Ben. He was the 3ird or 4th generation of one of my wolves. While he had I think seven pups and I named them all after sodas. But then. Through out the pups lives my wolf family had to switch dens 6 or 7 times cause ever den kept getting flooded over and over. So I ended up playing as the pup cola and he named one of his pups flood after all the stress he had to go through as a pup with 6 or 7 flooded dens lmao. Best wolf Quest story ever I bet.

Take your time as always, with your game stuffs. I know we got recent DLC coats, there's still many more awesome wolf furs that could be added. Maybe at some point more Howls. And from my exploring of the game's Slough Creek, could see more places for more dens. I loves variety! As for (fur) the black varients only found on npc wolves, how about some way of letting us know if we got one or all? Kind of hard to tell when doing the meet wolf to be mate at night time especially.

I don't know was it a bug or something, but once I was hunting a beaver and it reached water. I didn't want to lose it, so I started swimming by it and finally herded it on the ground! But maybe it was just a silly beaver, or a bug.

I have a idea for Tower falls. You could add rabbit burrows, that the wolves could trip over, dig into to get some rabbits and a place were rabbits can flee. Because I am pretty sure there are rabbits burrows all over Yellowstone.
