Hello old friend been a subscriber 3 or 4 years now. Back when you modded 989. So i had a DRZ 1 was last chassis, when they first came out. Never could get that thing tuned and drifting. So recently I saw one of your new vids for XRX and now im back from 2 year lay off. I finally got that car too drift then grabbed a XRX, so few more chassis later and now I have a Drift Art 2 from chanRC. The hobby has come along way since first 1/28 DRZ. So after ordering DA2 i saw this review, I order one. So had to come back to this video too connect blue tooth. Hello Beaver and thanks for this video. If I have a motor (which I believe is a PN racing one) having M1, M2, M3 on it instead of A, B, C... Is M1 the same as A in your opinion? All of this thinking about correct soldering to the Furitek esc.
@BeaversHobby2 жыл бұрын
I think so. But it doesn't really matter because this is sensorless and you can wire them however you like. If it spins in the opposite direction, just swap 2 wires.
@fabrizioformenti76492 жыл бұрын
@@BeaversHobby but the middle wire for esc and motor should always be the one phisically placed in the middle, right? So I might have to swap the external wires. And to your knowledge, what's the difference between swapping the wires and set the esc to counter-clockwise? Thanks again
@BeaversHobby2 жыл бұрын
@@fabrizioformenti7649 That doesn't matter either, we just put it in the middle for easier wire routing. As for the direction from wiring and setup, it's just programming. You should wire the motor so it works according to the programme.

Hello Beaver! What if I have a PN 2.5W chassis and have to solder positive and negative wires separetely? Does that furitek plug allow for that (to part the two wires and solder them)?
@BeaversHobby2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can do that. There are small pates for each polarity on the ESC so there's no worry about that. There will always be + and - separately.

@@BeaversHobby Beaver, since the Momentum with metal case comes without the wire to connect to receiver, could you tell me what kind of wire it is precisely so I can buy one? Does Furitek sell it separetly?

@@fabrizioformenti7649 Yes, Furitek sells that wire. I think it should come with the wire for micro receiver (JST-ZH 1.5mm) already. If you use a standard receiver (JR/Futaba) you'll have to buy a new wire. There should be a listing on the Furitek shop.

I'm relatively inexperienced in RC, but I'm interested in this ESC. Can I use it with a normal receiver? The connectors you use are the JST Mini, i only have normal Radio Control here.

Yes, you can use it with any normal receiver. They also sell the JR/Futaba plug for normal receivers too. It should have already bundled with the ESC but I'm not sure. Well, ask them anyway if the wire for normal receivers is already included.

Heya, I picked up this ESC that comes with the 3500kv motor, it's the first version but for some reason I just can't get it to connect to the motor. It just blinks slowly, not the rapid one where it doesn't find the receiver. I'm wondering if you ever encountered this issue and if you have some advice on troubleshooting if it's either the ESC or motor that's defective. Thanks!
@BeaversHobby2 жыл бұрын
I haven't got that problem yet but here are some diagnostic you can do. - Check the soldering joints on the motor and see if there's any bridge between 2 terminal. - Take the motor out and see if it still blinks the same. - Try and connect it to bluetooth, check if it appears in the app. - Check the motor mode, switch to brushless if it's brushed (some firmware has brushed as default). - If you have another motor to try it'll be nice, otherwise just re-solder the same one back in to see if it works. If nothing works please contact Furitek, they are on facebook at facebook.com/furitekelectronics Or the support group at facebook.com/groups/433779831145508 .

@@BeaversHobby Figured out the problem! For others whom has the same issue, I checked my battery's voltage which was 4.5 volts, way below the 7.4 it needs to output. Great Video! What do you think? Which is the best drift rc if you can only choose one?
@BeaversHobby3 жыл бұрын
If I can only choose one then I'd choose GL Racing GLD. It's the best design of this generation. Everything is well thought out and it is very easy to tune. It's also a true 1/28 narrow chassis as well. Unfortunately it's been let down by dodgy parts quality so once it's got some aluminium upgrades on it, it's the best.

Hi Bro, I also buy one Momentum with my Driftart2 and I found something interesting. If I kept battery plug with ESC after it shutdown, after hours the battery will certainly run out of energy. I already modified the button function as you did, however I can tell it's not really "off" while keep the plug onto. Have you met the same issue yet?
@BeaversHobby3 жыл бұрын
I never left the plug in so I think this ESC doesn't really cut the power when off, it just cuts the motor control and BEC out.

Hey Beaver. I have a Gl receiver and a Kyosho ex6-r receiver. How can I pair them? It’s so confusing. Please help me and thanks.!
@BeaversHobby2 жыл бұрын
Which receiver do you have? It only needs one so I presume you have the GL ESC (it has a plug on the top so it might look confusing) and a receiver. You'll need to plug the ESC into the channel 2 of the receiver. Let me check how a micro receiver for Kyosho ASF bind and I'll get back to you. Normally it should be holding the button on the receiver and turn the ESC on, the put the transmitter in bind mode.
@BeaversHobby2 жыл бұрын
This is the type of receiver you need for EX6-R. www.aliexpress.com/item/4001326910465.html As it turns out, here's how to bind: turn on both transmitter and ESC (that plugs into channel 2 of receiver), set EX6-R to pair and hold the button on the receiver for 2 seconds or until the light starts flashing and let it go.

I'm wondering if it's able to start-up the ESC power just like PS3 or switch that assigned button on the transceiver

Hi Beaver, I just got a Furitek Momentum ESC and soldered it up to a Yeah Racing 3500kv motor (looks just like the Surpass Rocket motor). I'm getting a lot of cogging and sometimes the motor stalls and whines, and telemetry shows the RPM maxed out even though it's not moving. Has this ever happened to you? Did you have to play with the settings at all with your ESC? Do you still feel like this is the best, even better than DasMikro?
@BeaversHobby3 жыл бұрын
I'd say check the wiring and calibration then see the working mode if it's brushed or brushless. Using brushed mode will result in the symptoms you have.
@jeffreymeeks90803 жыл бұрын
@@BeaversHobby Thanks for the reply. I checked and played with all of the settings. No matter what I do the motor acts up. It seems to cog all throughout the rev range. But what's weird is that it seems to be smooth in reverse. It's mainly forward where the issues come up. But anyway, I hooked it up to a brushed motor (and changed the setting to "brushed") and it works great. Really smooth and quiet. So I think my brushless motor must be bad.

@BeaversHobby3 жыл бұрын
It would be similar to the K989 touring project from stage 1-4 but instead of fitting it with grip tyres, install Mini-Z drift tyres instead. You can get either K969 or K989, they are the same chassis and you'll have to change the wheels & tyres (then for K989 lock the differentials) anyway. kzbin.info/aero/PLS79G3YjA2fAEez9GVeLW3JIy_LUIb6Mb At a start to get a decent drifting machine it would be around 60-70 USD. If you add some front one way it would add around 35USD to it because you'll need new drive shafts too.
