BOAT = Bust Out Another Thousand! That said I own two boats, Fresh/Salt but my all time favorite boat was an open 16' Aluminum Fisher Marine with live wells that had seats on top! It had a white 20 hp Johnson tiller. It was bulletproof and did have a 12/24 Evinrude trolling motor up front! But a tiller motor is the Bomb! I fished that boat on the Potomac, Susquehanna, The Mighty Ottawa and the Texas Lakes, Rivers & the Galveston Bay areas! I should've kept the boat! low maintenance especially in a saltwater environment! But an open boat with a tiller motor is the best! That's a well thought out boat design by practical application and experience! The best kind of boat design! She's clean & beautiful! Great video!

What are your thoughts on the Rival? I’m looking for simplicity as you are. I mainly fish solo at ML, Homosassa and crystal river. The Rival doesn’t have trim tabs, any reason why? Thank you!

The rival is a great option, especially for the price. It’s the same as the mosquito, just with the sponsons cut off. The angled transom doesn’t allow for trim tabs, but from what I understand, it’s balanced pretty well and doesn’t need them.
