B, I have been following your channel since your round with Rory, which was probably 6 years ago or so. You came across different pros/teachers/instructors. Some teachers often contradict themselves. Can you make a video review/recap of what have you learned from them all? Which method/approach would be beneficial? Which one can give "quick win" for a mid-high handicap golfer? Winter is coming and I think it would be a good time for some swing changes and improvements.

Just to chime in, 20 years ago when I was playing while going to college (not on the college team) I was playing a regular Friday skins game with a group of guys and I was getting elbow pain in my right elbow. But I’d heard that comes from powering with the right arm and hand, which works but leads to repetitive motion pain (at first, and injury if you keep it up). I remembered what I had heard on TV (watching golf) and knew I needed to stop doing that right arm powering thing. Was able to stop doing that because at the range my right elbow would hurt like heck if I did that right arm powering thing. Somehow I learned to swing without it and swinging well. I think the right arm powering thing helped me to overcome a swing flaw. But getting that sharp pain forced me to learn to swing better.

I was a guitar teacher and one of the issues that come up with players is tendonitis in the wrist. Understandable as the fingers are waggling all day long. The warning musicians get is, to stop if they start to feel soreness or pain because you can do more harm trying to macho your way through it than stopping. So, sounds like this warning might apply to more of the arm as well?

Both my elbows killed me at the end of last season and stopped me from any off season work on my swing. It took months to heal and physical therapy seemed fruitless. I think the switch to steel fiber shafts helped a lot this year, but my elbows are still ALWAYS a little sore. I'm looking forward to your follow up video.

I get tendonitis in my elbows from overuse. Not the athlete I was in my youth. Those exercises he mentioned are huuuuge. Stretching is also very underrated. Fingers, wrists, biceps, shoulders.

You need to do the Alex Noren drill. It will keep your left shoulder down, upper body center will be forward, shaft will shallow independent of your tilts. Hit balls 5-10 yards at most to start with...video and see how much it will change your picture.

My qs is where in the swing do you squat? is it before the downswing starts or is during the initial part of that?

If you were swinging a kettle bell side to side and you wanted to toss it down the fairway, you wouldn’t squat on the backswing. You’d squat when you applied force to toss it (downswing). It’s kinda the same thing but not so exaggerated.

Brendon - I was looking at Dr Jeff Mann's comparison between your practice vs real swing and it's quite alarming the differences he highlighted. May I ask the question what you were focussing on in your real swing? Were you focussing on just hitting the ball, or picturing/feeling how the compression with clubface and ball will produce your desired trajectory or focussing on where you intended the ball to land (ie. target focus) . Alternatively , were you using internal focus on the position and movement of a body part?

Yeah, Jeff and I have been discussing this. It leads to the strong psychological component of making a change. I’ll make a video about it. BUT I am not able to convince my body to HIT a ball the way MILO is showing without subconsciously worrying about slicing it/ open facing the ball. I moved my ball position way up and that helps convince myself that I now have enough time to square the FACE with my BODY rotation. BP too far back makes me through and twist the FACE. I still new to dive deeper into my Psyche to figure out why I want to exit SO HIGH on the way through. It is all scar tissue from being a sliver early on I think

Are you from a science or physics background? There is no need to use the body to square the club if you use the passive clubface squaring torque described by Dr Sasho MacKenzie. He used this method when he damaged his left arm badly and had to play golf for a season just swinging with his right arm. Af first , he was slicing everything and then he discovered a way to passively square the clubface , with limited (if any) active lead forearm supination. He wrote an article to explain the physics behind it (it's not very complicated to be honest). He also made a youtube video explaining the club squaring effect with Chris Como titled " Understand your swing with the help of physics | Swing Expedition | Golf Channel | GOLFPASS". One thing that I've noticed in this video is just how large Milo's forearms are. I wonder what he would say about the role of grip and forearm strength in his driver swing speed. Is it a big factor? Or is it more for controlling the club/face?

He's just got good rotation through it , I copied Milo's drive about 3 years ago and the speed the ball comes off golf face effortlessly is an eye opener but it feels really slow when you are rotating.

Without proper technique your gains in distance will be limited. Brendon does not have the proper technique, which is why he gets hurt and why it looks like he’s swinging out of his shoes and Milo’s swing is so smooth and powerful.

playing on and off for 40 years - i maybe have solid contact on shots 20% of the time - i just turned 69 years old - and maybe i hit my driver 175 yds on average and cant hit a 5 iron more than 130 yards - i seem to be getting worse as i age - ive tried literally 15 different ways to swing from many on youtube - nothing really works for more than 1 or 2 times - im so tired of guys telling me that start off taking half swings - everyone says that - everyone says give their method a chance - for me if im not improving at all after 2 weeks im out of that system

At our age (I’m 70), it’s all about slower swing speeds, and trying to get the ball to fly higher. Find clubs that elevate your ball flight. Consider using hybrid clubs. I don’t even use a 5 iron anymore. Improve your swing speed and distance by finding lighter weight clubs. That helps too. Oh yeah, and lower your expectations. We’re getting old, we just aren’t going to smack it like we used to. 🙂Play well.

Stick with your coach. KZbin golf videos are definitely not one size fits all.

@@frankd1682 Of for sure. I watch this guy's videos and almost gasp at how many different coaches and influences he's subjected himself to. Interesting for us and gives us a glimpse at what others are preaching but it would send me straight to the loony bin! It's hard enough with one coach let alone 50!!

It's a natural progression of the game. At the highest level you hit straights, which is after fades.

@@ToraxReborn McIlroy and Reed known for hitting strong draws. DJ and Rahm hit fades. Koepka and Bryson hit straights.

@wodenoftheangles3339 I've seen Mcilroy play in front of my eyes, as I caddied for my mate in Aus Open. He basically hits straights to the naked eye. Don't know about others.

@@martynzl Bryson has repeatedly said he aims for straights. McIlroy tried switching to fades and nearly destroyed his game. Anyway, I was replying to the first commenter - who said that the elite players aim for straights - this is not true. In fact most elite players play a fade.
