Hi Brendan Hi Milo. isn’t the backswing essentially a half circle to our trail side; then about a 3/4 circle to our lead side finish? And that through centrifugal force, the circle of our swinging the club back and forth must always be pulled to the center of our swing which is our spine? So in order to achieve the true golf swing; once I have aimed; and in my golf posture; I simply direct my trail side scapula to pull about 2 inches toward my spine and then with subtle quickness I direct my lead side scapula to pull two plus inches towards my spine in order to finish my swing. I call this my whole body swing as my whole body and my moving club head responds altogether as nature intends them both to do. Cheers 😊🥂👍❤️

The most important position is delivery. If you don't get to delivery correctly it doesn't matter how much lag you have. For all intense and purposes it really doesn't matter much how you get to delivery as long as it's the correct position for the shot you're intending to hit. There have been countless major champions that have arrived at delivery in a multitude of ways and still hit it with consistency. If delivery is correct everything else takes care of itself. If you're worried about lag or impact or some other affect of delivery you're already lost.

Most golfers think the “delayed release” is the most popular concept - they really want that “Hogan lag.” Worked for Hogan. But I dare say Hogan’s wrist was more flexible than is mine (and most folks), allowing for the extra (extreme) lag. But being Hogan was lagging so extremely he must have released in the hitting area (late) and hit the ball with a lot of forward shaft lean. But I can’t control that so easy - but with lots of trying I can make it happen. But I don’t like playing like that. Nicklaus said his release started right off the top. I feel that working for me - and it creates a bigger arc, and with the bigger arc my 7-iron goes 170+ in the air. Only goes about 160+ when I delay the release and play more with a press and a delay - I lose power from a smaller arc. But the trade-off is some loss of direction control, but I gain back direction control with a couple other tricks I won’t go on about here - suffice it to say I get more control by making sure I do particular swing moves correctly as I come down off the top, putting myself in good positions at the right points in the downswing.

Delayed release ? Hell no! That's a swing killer. Trying to incorporate that move on the downswing is only going to make things worse, not better. Purposely trying to delay the release slows the club down. Ergo you're going to hit it shorter....just as you discovered. Also delaying the release is a manipulation of the club on the downswing. Because of that, you can easily cause the club path to be violated causing miss hits. Also...... Hogan 'did not' create his lag via delayed release. That's not how lag is created

I’ve been using the tour striker Planemate for 2 years now. Getting at hip high transition with a clubface matching spine angle is paramount for that device.

Mind blowing that Milo corrected you when you said he’s 20 degrees more flexed (to 30°) when he was in the lag position at 6:29. Then again, I’m guessing he already knows his hack motion numbers. Really good stuff.

I really like Milo's delivery position see 7:41 which happens in motion but I would like to know if Milo deliberately modelled it and worked on it or if it was just something that happened.?

I spent thousands of hours developing my swing. Much of what I do happened as a buy product of who I am as an athlete and how my dad taught me to grip the club when I switched from baseball to golf.

Explain to me how the golfer creates the forces/torques via the hands on the club's grip to retain that lag angle from P4-P5.5? You either hold the angle (using active musculature negative wrist torque) or apply a net eccentric force at the grip whose vector tail end is pointing behind the COM of the club (ie. creates a negative torque which will tend align the COM with the tail end of the force vector line) , or do a bit of both. I doubt golfers hold the angle but have figured it out intuitively how to develop and use eccentric forces (rather than understanding the physics to plan it out). How they create and time the application of those eccentric forces , with whatever combination of body segment movements, is still a mystery until they are able to measure the forces and torques applied via each hand in the downswing (which unfortunately , could cost a lot of money to research).

This research has been done by Koike, a Japanese researcher. Search "Force and Moment Exerted by each hand in an Instumented golf club."

When you said that everybody makes good impact or lag with a stick attempting to Skoff the ground but when you introduce the club head it ruins it that’s the discovery I made in 2018 that I haven’t told anyone

I think whats so interesting is to see how bowed his lead wrist is at p6 especially with his strong lead hand grip. Im assuming hes more flat than bowed, and that guys with weaker grips are more a lot more flexed.
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf 11 ай бұрын
That’s the thing you have to watch out for with hack motion. If it’s not calibrated perfectly, it can give incorrect readings. What you’re really looking for is the pattern. When I’ve tested myself at address, I have around 25° of extension in the lead wrist and it impact it’s really close to flat. It does get into a slightly flex state around P6 and then works the other way from there.
@industrialpalletworx3548
@industrialpalletworx3548 11 ай бұрын
If they are a professional their lead wrist is flat to slightly bowed at impact no matter how strong or weak their grip is. Starting with a strong grip negates the need for a lot wrist bowing, just the opposite for a weaker grip. Ideally you want to be neutral. A neutral position gives the greatest flexibility, fades or draws with a neutral position are much easier.

It is impossible to give one size fits all instruction, which is why it’s important to work with a coach that understands matchups and can make modifications to their coaching for the student in front of them. Check out my live lesson with John G where I make adjustments to my preferences to help him.

@@BEBETTERGOLF I do a forward-press as a trigger-move which essentially sets the face square to the arc. From there I introduce no lead hand flexion. It.s definitely a Rahm / DJ feel. Works great for me..

In my honest opinion... amateurs cast because they have never been taught how to use their body correctly by using the proper sequcing. Simply, they're using their hands and arms to get square thinking golf is a different movement. Golf tuition is so screwed. Think of it this way, if you were told to throw a sack of potatoes, no one would use hands and arms to cast early. They just use their back to 'rotate' and let it go by using momentum.
@industrialpalletworx3548
@industrialpalletworx3548 11 ай бұрын
Precisely! The hands and arms have 1 job move the club up and down. The body provides the rotation to square the club
