The second one also has some faults. The Wonyoung and Leeseo criticism was definitely warranted. While it was most likely not their decision to lip-sync, they made the decision to not even try to make it look real. I don't agree with tearing them down, but some criticism was definitely needed. As for other lip-syncing scenarios. It's an idol's job to sing and dance. Idols go to training for years so they can put on such a show for us and some do not put in as much effort. Jihyo can sing and dance so why can't others? Not saying they have to break their backs and sing perfect high notes, sometimes lip-syncing is necessary, but at least try.

If you argue like that then you can ask the company why did they debut that specific members when they know they aren’t good enough to sing and dance (or even one of it) at the same time. Obviously cause they know that many fans care more about visuals, it’s actually a official position in groups while the base should be skill nevertheless how good someone is looking. The companies are the professionals in the first place while most idols are really young at debut and either trust the companies decision to think they are „ready“ or simply are scared to not get a 2nd chance to debut if they deny. Still it’s them which are getting the backlash if the audience discovers that their skills are underdeveloped. In the end this idols are most popular (of visuals) but most criticized (of skill) in the groups

The reason why Sullyoon became my bias at first in NMIXX was because of her VOICE ONLY. I really love her voice, It's clear and angelic. It sounded so good. I was never a fan of visual group member since 2009 and never will. I am pretty much sure, it was because of her voice as well that she attracted more. Haewon is my second bias because she's amazing at everything. I admire her leadership. Up to this point. the rest of the group are in third place. Jiwoo is really amazing at boyish type of dance and rap. Kyujin the all round maknae, She's superb. Lily's voice is top notch. Like seriously, the best vocal. Bae's voice is unique. I really love her adlibs, it gives more color to their songs. Overall, The reason Sullyoon remain as my bias was because of her personality. I can relate to her more since I am an introvert as well.

1st and foremost double standards acc to me : - Outfits / showing skin doesn't get equal reactions for both male and female idols - Women confident = pick meeeeeee🤡 - Women achieve = SHE IS SUCH A S- - This one's for the fandoms who talk about Antibullying+ take out feminism card yet wouldn't say a word when it's their own fandom troubling other idols and degrade women down - if a fandom goes down to degrade your idols you don't need to go down the same level and talk sh1t about their favs or bodyshame them as well. I've been a part of fandoms from past 7years . "KPOP" this word for truly meant for Gen 2,3 idols ! Yes there were dating rumors yet the shows all were a hype, actual fun, interaction and all. There ..every idol's visuals were noticed coz they had real smile, happiness on their faces which showed the true beauty! This 4th gen is all about visuals, I've seen this year when groups like Ive , Nmixx debuted, people' started admiring those idols first with pretty visuals only and examples i don't need to give ! Idols are become idols for popularity not as their passion like many number of minors are debuting. Most of these are hypocrisies not double standards. A double standard is you and everyone else calling korean fans "K-nets" while you never call a Brazilian fan "B-net" or a Mexican fan "M-net". Korean K-pop fans make most of the content you guys report on (like the posts on Nate Pann) then sometimes a controversy spills over to mainstream sites like Naver and the Korean general public chimes in which is when "K-net" would be sorta appropriate but its annoying you don't call them Korean K-pop fans so young/dumb people think every single Korean is making nasty comments about idols. "K-net" is basically a ethnic slur at this point.

I disagree with the first one.. talking about visuals is not the same thing as making visuals everything. Visuals are a part of kpop but it becomes extreme when all netizens can talk about is who gained or lost weight or whos a natural or plastic beauty rather than the talents of our idols. I think it's necessary for idols to lip-sync sometimes. They can't be singing constantly coz too much of it will lead to health issues especially to the vocal cords. Also some of the health standards are not healthy. I have seen some idols whose names I've forgotten having the same size as a tree branch and ue call that healthy. Really do they only need a pretty face. Another thing, people should really give their idols privacy. For example, they will announce that they are dating someone when they are ready. They really don't need second mouths to talk for them.

Women are body shamed in every culture. As women, we should stand up for Any woman being body shamed. Would love for people doing the shaming to post their own photo.. not to criticize, but to realize how vulnerable women in the public eye are. Women in kpop are particularly vulnerable because of Korean beauty standards. Second gen groups suffered too but reality shows and live singing made them more human.. I think once their personalities show people are less invested in criticisms; or more so, if Idol doesn’t act the way fans expect them to. What is answer? The lipsync trend in k-pop now is a *TRASH trend* indeed Being bashed for flat vocals of a few seconds is better than never singing live or doing it thrice in their whole career as idol singers. And if the obsession with lipsync is SO strong They can choose to do it for dance performances only And DEFINITELY NOT for award shows/concerts And even lesser for Standing/Sitting performances. Because if they still do they can't even be called idols. They are only dolls at that point. Sometimes, idols do need some criticism by fans as for example the day 1 performance of BLΛƆKPIИK's (no hate to them) born pink concert in Seoul, over there we cannot disagree that they had performed very badly which was very unpleasant to watch but after the fans criticized them for the performance they improved. They made less mistakes than before. Everytime we cannot blame the company for the mistakes idols make they are the ones that should be blamed for certain mistakes which are serious but critizing them for small mistakes, gaining weight, having plastic surgeries is just ridiculous!
