Looks like the more Kpop develops, the pickier the audience will get. No longer just happily taking whatever tricks the Kpop industry throws at them, fans now also pay attention to some "annoying" details and demand some changes.
So what are these things that annoyed people so much? Let's take a look at our video and you'll find out!

The most annoying thing for me is Kpop is no longer about appreciate the 'music' cause sadly now everything is only about charts, views, breaking records, highest listener, awards, how many cd are sold etc. A song will considered flop if it can't reach certain number of views / chart 🥲. Its funny that a song is considered good based on the numbers. Thats why in the newer generation mostly every idols are trying to release the similar and repetitive cool songs, with noisy 'in your face' sound, high quality MV , bold makeup and outfit , all of that just to be able to reach that certain numbers. Nowadays they rarely make a song thats speak from the bottom of the heart, with deeply meaning, simple yet moving, sincere and heartwarming. I really miss the older generation, especially the 2nd gen.

Agree, everything is sold out even before the song is out, is it something good for the idols? Like I see many records broken by those idols but I doubt that the world is actually listening to it, like outside the K-pop world

I agree. The streaming culture is a prime example. If you release a good song then people WILL come back to it in a year, 5 years, 10 years etc.. I've seen lots of songs being streamed immediately after a comeback and that's it. It makes it seem like a competition, instead of the fans enjoying the music they become fixated on the numbers

One song can immediately brought back all of my youthfull memories, the good and the bad that happened in my life. Such a powerful song. This kind of song is what we need in Kpop. Nowaday Kpop lack of this kind of song. Its Big Bang afterall, they always make the best song, their ballad always so touching and the lyric always had the deep and meaningfull message

What gets me most angry are the fans who see nothing wrong with this and even say if they have an issue, the idol would have said something. I guess they personally know idols, because as far as I know they may get branded as rude or disrespectful. 😑 Edit: Another thing there's numerous things wrong with this, especially when you see the inappropriate pictures/video edits. Sometimes from awkward, or otherwise uncomfortable angles.

There are some points that I think are annoying too : - *Making weird requests;* I saw a video about someone in a fanmeet asking TXT's Yeonjun to ??bite his tie?? He seemed a bit surprised but did it anyway. I don't know about you but I'd be really uncomfortable if I were in his place - *Making memes out of pictures where the idol is genuinely emotional;* I've seen a few(probably just 2 idols)pictures of idols crying used as a meme. --*People hating anything if it's related to Kpop, more specifically BTS and/or BLACKPINK;* Do I have to explain ?

1: I see sooo much kpop stans ship idols with their visuals are it's honestly weird. Some I can agree but others I don't. 2: So TRUE. The maknes get the most revealing outfits in the group and it sadly got worse due to the sudden debuts of underage idols. 3: Second worst kpop trend in my opinion. Winking may look cute sometimes but there's a limit. 4: Korean ppl get really angry if it has anything to do with Chinese or Japanese idols. Knetz think that jyp started to not recruit Japanese trainees after Twice's j-line having many controversies and yeah I think it's kinda true.

For 4th one they did launch Niziu but after that looks like JYPE isn't launching foreign idols. All Itzy and stray kids members have Korean roots. In Nmixx on Lily is half Korean while all others are Korean.

honorable mentions 1) criticising female idols who do not have an hourglass/s-line/super slim whatever bodies. besides, complaining about allegedly “bad proportions” (big head, short legs etc.)is just as ridiculous 2) hating on cute idols. just because someone is close to 30 it doesn’t mean she/he cannot present a youthful image. also changing one’s style is totally normal in my op. 3) shipping that is too far-fetched and is not for just fun any more 4) seriously ISAC or whatever it is called (too many injuries and competition)

Body Shaming: And not just for being big, but being too small too. I have felt with severe weight loss and have been overweight and I can say I think people can be rude both ways about it, especially when your small, because some people can’t help how small they are. Toxic Fans: I think that speaks for itself. Solo Member Fan: Mostly due to praising one member and trashing on the rest. Outrageous Diets: Because these idols work, so don’t see why they need to bring “smaller” for not real reason. It should be for health, not looks. Dating Bans: I do think idols starting out should stay away from this, but if your a group that’s been out since like 2009 or whatnot, like I think you should have ownership of your life. Beauty Over Talent: Not because pretty people aren’t talented, but because very Talented idols a lot of the time get promoted less than someone pretty. I know many talented artists who aren’t in their groups and are solo that are under small companies with not budget, while other idols who were the pretty idols have budgets that push them out there. Not saying that companies can always push an idol out, but the idol who has some of the best talent in the business is left out to dry, while another idol from that same group is promoted like crazy. SM is a big fault of this, because they can promote solo acts, but they have many former idols who should have been promoted better under their company. Not Promoting Idols: As in like Any artist under YG. We all know I mostly mean Blackpink, but other idols too. Secret songs for Album Releases only: Many artists I love have really good songs, but when (G)I-DLE came out with Tomboy, I didn’t realize it had an explicit version until I saw it on KZbin. And then I realized Twice and Jonghyun also had tracks only on their album. I get they want Album sells, but I don’t want to pay extra money for tracks I don’t like. And a lot of albums don’t have much too them. I’m sorry, but I’m not buying a full album if I only like 2 or 3 songs and their are like 12 or something. Western Media Disrespecting Idols/Groups: I have seen so many interviews and such here where idols are insulted for no real reason. Or asked really rude questions I don’t hear other artists asked. One I really hate is “do you write your own music?” or “are you dating?”. Because many artist (in American and outside America don’t write music, while many others do, and you know a K-Pop idol is going to get shit on more, because the stereotype is that they don’t, despite many companies are owned by former or current idols). Them for the dating, it’s rude to ask people if they don’t want to answer, but for a K-Pop idol, it can be dangerous. Korea is a really small country, as in like you could visit all over it within a day or two; like you can take a day trip across the country. So if you say your are dating and a crazy person is your fan and gets upset, they could hunt you down. I mean some idols do have security, but that doesn’t everyone does. Loaded questions should really be monitored by companies, because Americans outlets apparently have no sense of distress apparently (even Cara Delevingne got this treatment, so it’s a big issue).

some things that surprised me for not being on this list -aegyo/wanting every idol to do it -shipping in a romantic way (platonic is fine) -commenting on idols weight -this one is more specific to bahiyyih and her brother but it needs to be added: giving siblings all the credit for the other's fame and/or pitting them against each other (the next is more gross) shipping them together -porn accounts tweeting videos of random ppl having sex and naming 2 or 3 random idols so stans can pretend it's them (this one is included in shipping bahiyyih with her brother bc they pop up a lot) -comparing idols to horses (i've only seen it happen to j-hope and bahiyyih but i have no doubt there's more idols) or pigs (i see this a lot in idols who gained weight) -editting idols faces on random pics of ppl esp if seductive/naked photos -deepfakes of female idols -cultural appropriation (this one is on both the idols and their companies) -looking dead inside while performing -complaining that an idol who doesn't look dead inside while performing is "doing too much" -debuting anyone younger than 15 (kinda covered in the video but doesn't talk about how some idols are too young exactly) -calling anyone idol or fan a hag when they're in their 20's and i could name so much more

I've never seen Chaehyun's resemblance to Irene. The only time I could kinda see what people were talking about is when she wore that white beret. But analyzing both pictures, Chaehyun was wearing similar makeup (especially the eyeliner), a similar hairstyle, and a similar accessory. It's almost as if Wake One wanted to exploit that narrative since Kep1er were promoting for their upcoming debut. Except for that one time they look completely different to me, from their face shape to her eyes, nose, and lips. Even the distance between her facial features is different from Irene's.

What I find most annoying is in past few yrs kpop has become more about the idols than the music. When I got into kpop in 2013 kpop was about good music that could cross language barriers, also the fun choreos & MVs. In the past few yrs all I seeing going around is how cute, hot, sexy, beautiful etc the idols are. Most fans seem to be looking for the next best visual among idols in terms of face & body & then fantasizing & sexualizing the idols. It started with the 3rd gen groups & now it's widespread in the 4th gen group fandoms. It's disgusting. And the fanfics. Even more disgusting. One of the reasons why I went from liking to disliking a most popular boy group is bcuz of how sexualized they got.

Another one is double standards. As a woman, it bothers me so much because male idols gets applaud for almost everything even rude things and female idols gets hate for the same thing. I don't know if i’m the only one who hates this or not, but I think not having a member's opsitions is a bad thing! Some members are subjected to injustice because they do not have opsitions! For example, when the member are a rapper, others will focus on his rap, making his talent shine! To make it clear, let's take bahiyyih as an example! Although she won second place, many wonder about her talent! What if the company gave the members positions? Others will know about her talent!!

I personally don't like the ranking things, like weekly or monthly rankings for popularity of groups or male and female idols, I think it just put unnecessary pressure upon idols ranking high to "remain" on top and disappointment upon people not ranking right or not featuring in the lists :/
