Slow is smooth smooth is fast was a mantra I learned in the army for mag changes and it has held true for many things in life

I find it's true for bike racing. But with disc golf I personally tell myself that the disc should always be accelerating while in my hands. And that for means I have to start the first half of my throw much slower than I think I should.
@monkeyearcheese420 Жыл бұрын
@@bobbybobman3073 yeah the " run up" is tricky and timing seems to be everything. I still struggle with it . But I have some back damage and leg issues. Slowing it down has definitely giving me more distance though

Hunter 100% plugged the Wolf because Innova probably dumped a bunch on them. That is one of the worst discs ever made.

@@eoghana315 I've got a buddy who's been playing about 5 years and only throws the wolf. 200 feet straight every time lol. Even putts with it

I'm all in with Trevor lol. I love putters and approach discs and bag/try way too many of. Hunter's statement about wanting to be good or wanting to have fun is spot on though, and something a lot of disc golfers need to hear.

Best backhand tip I have is to use the “modified grip” Big Jerm shows off in the old Discraft video from like 12 years ago. I’ve used it for 10 years now and it is sooo consistent

I gotta say the last two weeks has made me change the way I play. Last episode was minimizing my bag… I couldn’t go to 10 I went to 12 😅 and this episode when Hunter said that if you can’t throw 300 feet with a run up(I can’t 😢) I for the most part shouldn’t run up. Im gonna go out and try a round with no run up after some field work. Y’all are awesome! Keep up the great work

so i dont get 300+ consistently but i feel like i throw farther wit a run up then without.

I agree with Trevor, x steps are something I need for timing for distance shots, but stand still, I'm consistent with my throws to about 200', but keep in mind that I have no issues really dialing by my x step to a very low intensity. For some reason my body just times up better with the x step.

@hunter have you tried the emac truth to cover the slightly more stable md3? I don’t quite have your arm speed, but I bag both an emac truth and an md3 and they feel similar in the hand with the emac truth being that touch more stable. It almost feels like the same disc

I've def have gotten older destroyers that was flippy af out the box. For sureee but they still good and hurricanes are also nice n stable. U just got a dud hunter that happens to all companies
Savant ... Totally underated imo, why? Cause it's what my tee bird 3 roughly should be ... It flys real straight and will fade out consistently ... In champion its not that understable. The -1 isn't that big of a concern.

I don’t want to sound toxic at all… but how are these guys not better at disc golf!? They were collegiate athletes who have played for years! I started playing last year and my first rated round was 1008.
@FoundationPodcasts Жыл бұрын
Easy answer. We just play the game for fun now! You can look back and see how good we got back in college but nowadays if we're throwing, we're playing and just enjoying the sport without worrying about ratings or skill level or anything like that.
