This is a lesson in "buyer beware". I think that like most of us who watch beauty videos, we all have a pretty decent sized makeup collection and we need to start using and ENJOYING what we do have instead of worrying about FOMO. Beauty companies want us to be impulse buyers and that's why they come out with all this "limited edition" stuff. I, for one, could be on a "no buy" for the next 2 years and be perfectly fine and have a healthier bank account!

I have to admit that since I've become a makeup brand collector and junkie of beautiful things in the makeup world - I've avoided Becca and "KZbin" collaborations like the plague! And every new KZbinr colab that comes out - I'm so grateful I did. It's obvious that brands who collab are looking to make quick coins on the crap they put out with expectations of screwing collectors and the innocent. Was there anyone else in Australia that got annoyed because Becca nor Jaclyn said anywhere whether the palette would be released on the Australian Sephora website? A friend and I were tweeting Jaclyn and Becca and commenting on their Instagrams to find out if it was going to be released in Australia and they were non-responsive. and we weren't the only ones ignored. I ended up buying three palettes (because i thought it was limited edition) through a shipping service on the American release date and two months later it was released on Sephora Australia! There was not announcement just a small reply to someone on an Instagram post which was the wrong date, (i think) anyway.

To an extent, I don't have sympathy. I get a little bit of a giggle at the idea of people buying something because it's "limited" and then getting their snobby little parade rained on. If you really like the color, how does it hurt you if more people get a chance to buy it? And if you don't, don't buy it. If you're doing this for collecting purposes, go invest in comic books or Franklin plates or something. This is the kind of thing that makes me really reflect on the consumerism in this (and all) business. BTW, I've seen this mistake in more than one video: These are brackets - [ ]. Personally, I don't care if something is "limited edition" or not, even if I love it. I know I'll see it again (or something damn close), by that company or someone else, so it never influences my purchases. What does influence the spending of my hard earned cash is whether a company is ethical or not. I realize a company needs to make money, if they're selling eyeshadows or tacos, it doesn't really matter, but GREED is not required. I for one will NEVER buy a Becca product as long as I live, period. I prefer to spend my money where I feel I, as a customer, am appreciated. The only "limited edition" collab I'm terribly disappointed to have missed is the one between Jeffree Star and Manny MUA, because I do believe it will no longer be available (just couldn't afford it😢). I follow @jeffreestar and @jeffreestarcosmetics and the pics of the collab on IG are A-mazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing the tea on Becca, just love your channel 💖💖

He's still the same and does the same things. A company is not unethical only when it tricks people with limited editions. It can be unethical in what it stands for too. Honestly, I am not surprised at JH. I followed her for a while because she was one of the Elite that I kept hearing about that any beauty girl "needs" to follow. But after a couple videos I could not stomach her. I am a novice at the makeup game but just the things she would talk about was not convincing. If they can get away with re marketing the same colors as new and we keep buying them, that's easy money and they are going to do anything to make a buck. That's the name of the game. We of the beauty world need to get smart as consumers and call them out on their Duplicate shit. I am glad more and more women are saying enough is enough and I will not be giving you my hard earned dollars when many companies are just re branding old colors as new and getting a butt load of money for it. I assume I was not clear in my comment. Through out the entire length of statement I did not blame JH for making a living and earning some money. I was calling her out on the fact that she got caught lying and is not owning up to it. Instead, she is claiming she had no voice within the collab and does not wish to be associated with the crap palette. I don't care who you are, I will not sell my name to something of poor quality so that my name is associated with something so crappy. But, that is just me. If she would've gotten away with it then good for her, she made a few bucks doing so because we failed to see that the shades are similar. I may be a little older than others here but this,always,happened. As someone else mentioned Loreal and Estee Lauder owns all and I mean all lines with the exception of some indies i.e. Black Opal or the struggling line Fashion Fair. This actually started in the 1980's and became worse.

This is some serious tea. I'm so glad consumers are starting to catch on to the shady business practices of some of these companies (a lot of it is thanks to videos like these!). I haven't bought from Becca since they got bought out by a company that tests on animals, but this makes me wish I'd never bought from them in the first place

The shades in Jaclyn and Chrissy's palette looks really similar, but it doesn't bother me too much. I have never found Becca to be a very unique brand. They don't do crazy highlighter/blush shades and their eyeshadows are pretty much all neutrals. It does bother me that they keep pulling this "limited edition" crap though because like you said in your previous video, its probably all planned beforehand since it takes time to make the products. Honestly, I haven't really trusted Becca since the whole jaclyn eyeshadow incident because its shady that they used a different factory that used a cheap eyeshadow formula and put that out on shelves at a high end price.

Tbh I used to hate channels like this, but I think it's because I didn't understand them at first. I know those hate channels do exist (what I thought this account was), but you are forsure not one of them. Just like celebs have E! news and tabloids, KZbinrs are starting to face the same things. The beauty community is so large that it has truly become difficult to figure out which channels are genuine and true. I've been an avid beauty/lifestyle KZbin watcher since I was in HS (since around 09-10? maybe sooner?). I do like seeing all the sides and you guys do the research, like I never would, so I guess I'm just trying to say ... thanks for the tea! 😉

I was a huge supporter of becca and Jaclyn before all of this, I had the very first highlight palette they released and also purchased the face palette and eyeshadow palette but after this I returned/sold EVERYTHING! I can no longer support her or that brand, she's such a liar it disgusts me and becca ripping off their consumers so much, no thank you.

I bought the new palette.. solely because I saw it in person.. I thought it was pretty, especially the "new" highlight (I have a "problem" with amber/apricot shades).. and it was US made. Even if they release it later it will be $38 and the palette was $46, so $8 for the other three shades.. I'm ok with that. I did not buy the last palette they made, nor the JH products. Moral of the story here folks: stop fangirling, judge everything on it's own merits, don't buy anything until you can see it in person or get a review from someone you trust, and pay attention to what you already have. These companies are cranking out product as fast as they can, and they only care about whether you buy it or not. Becca is hardly the only one, but it's a shame to see a company that used to be so respected fall so hard.
