One of the greatest bands of all time. Jeff actually wrote the drum part for Stevie Wonder. And btw, he was 28-29 years old and playing like that. Damn. That’s is talent.

...not a lot of people associate Beck Bogart and Appice with this song very well...rightfully so Beck owns this song but Stevie Wonder got control and recognition of it by legal means...and he made a hit of it, the story goes like two weeks before Beck and the Band could do anything about it...and of course management was involved...But still this is BBA's track and a killer one at that...the vocals of Carmine singing and on Drums and Timmy singing backup and on Bass guitar...you really have to hear the Album to appreciate the depth of their commitment to the ideas...Freaking Rock Solid! Thanx for the post...much appreciated! Rock on!
@mikegovette12972 жыл бұрын
It was Stevie and Jeff's song, though Beck only contributed drums (!) in the writing of it. Wonder decided Beck could release his own version ahead of him, but Berry Gordy, Motown CEO, thought Wonder's would be a bigger hit. Though it was Gordy's call, not Wonder's, Beck held a grudge for awhile, but they got past it. Beck did "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" by Wonder and that is an amazing tune!

Carmine Appice is in IMHO the only man who could've successfully sat John Bonham's drum stool! Although his son did do a fine job of keeping the family tradition going(I'm just saying that in a pinch, Jimmy Page did have choices)..

Everyone-soloing-at-once bands, like this one, is why Stevie Wonder is known around the globe for this song and BB&A enjoys an almost nonexistent audience. So much of this soul-less, lily-white nonsense existed in this era, probably emboldened by Cream, who managed to have a real style.
