I'm excited about this one. I like the way the slide sounds especially when playing a blues song.

It has a lot of power in a blues context for sure. I think using it here as a hip-hop sample was really creative and showed it's versatility, I would love to see other genres incorporate more of this sounds in their music.

Didn't the Lenored Skinnerd guitarists use a slide on several of their songs. Seems like I remember watching something one time about them and the guy who would play the intro riff to Sweet Home Alabama used a slide. I'm probably wrong about the song but I'm sure one of them used a slide. I agree with the use of one on different geners of songs. It lends caricature to the songs IMO.

I wish you would play the song so we could hear what it sounds like. When i was a kid, neighborhood kids would get together and play guitar and sing. No one cared how well anyone sang, and everyone got better in time. As a music teacher, you really need to get over any fear of singing.

When you go to that open D tuning are you using a low G string?

Regular high G but it would sound great with a low G too.
