Ethan Becker is one of the greatest knife designers of our era the knives he has designed and made are worth every penny you pay for them and he understands that sense of pride and the importance of the tool to people like myself and Woodsmen every where.I believe that you your self are stepping into that one day I'd like to purchase one of your knives as well thanks sharing the interview with us and keep on making knives peace Pops t

Great knife and awesome to meet the designer

The knife at 2:12 looks is pretty much what the Ontario modeled the SP10 Marine Raider after. Blade is identical.

Say Heah, I just ordered my second Limited Edition, Yup, I ordered the BK-29 Moses, It makes my third BK-5, but that's Ok, I think it will be a collectible, Infact I know it will, its a excellent knife, But that Snody SnakeCharmer was a pleasant surprise, It fell right into my lap for a new Bush Craft Trio I was putting together. It was just perfect for that. Thanx You.,,.

I got my order in.

faultroy Go to the ka-bar website and you can order it there. It's $200 but it comes with a BK4 and BK5.

The prototype look much better when it comes to overall size and the clip is also much better because longer. It could be straight but of the same length. Is , was or will be on sale ? Also I would leave the spine intact for sharp 90 degree edges and greater strength (for instance the BK5 also had thinner spine that made it too light and too thin at the tip)

Cool knife! The first really good fixed blade knife i ever bought for myself (at age 16) was a Western Bowie. I'm excited to see a Becker interpretation of the design. I currently own 8 Becker knives, i will buy a BK20 if it goes into regular production. I can't buy one of the limited run BK20s because Kabar won't sell direct to anyone outside of the U.S. !!! I'm assuming and hoping these will go into regular production at some point?
@averageiowaguy8 жыл бұрын
+iamtorcman I do not know if these will go into production.

Thank God it's a limited edition I was just about to buy one. Well that just saved me good amount of money. On the other hand this is the exactly 100% the machete that I've been looking all over the Internet for since I already have the combat Bowie and the camp knife along with and Ontario Knife 18 inch machete. This would have been the exact perfect in between knife. Oh well I guess I'll just have to try a different brand unless you're planning on producing this knife and seeing as it's almost 2019 we'll start looking elsewhere

I bought one and love it, but the prototype was so much cooler. I wonder why they changed it. I want that prototype!
@JGstunts226 жыл бұрын
that prototype is the bk29 , why did kbar say their in hiuse desinger made the bk29 when its clearly made by ethan
@newhampshirebound85518 жыл бұрын
That's the first time I've ever seen Becker use a knife.

The prototype is BK29 'Moses'
@paulie4x18 жыл бұрын
But I guess I'll just have to get use to it.
@kennethking89437 жыл бұрын
how come you don't make the bk20 no more
@paulie4x18 жыл бұрын
Hmmmmmm mmmmmm mmmmmm Ethan, One of my Fav's is my Busse Combat Anneversay Straight Handle Battle Mistress LE, It's also a 11" blade, But it has a choil, I don't forsee me cutting my fingers, and I never ran out of blade because of a choil, But to me it's like having two knife sizes in one. But Kudos and your new Bundok BK-20 Like I mentioned before, I already had the 4 and 5 and no regrets, I'm just happy I got one before they sold out. By the way, Even though the BK-4 doesn't look like a conventional large knife. In that context as a large knife, It shines.

I like the look of the prototype better than the production model.

Why a limited edition? As I'm a fan of the Raider Bowie this would be a great production knife
@cowboy7x7 жыл бұрын
Why the 'limited run'? I want one of these and would have to have a custom knife maker re-create it. I don't understand why this is not a common staple if so many people would buy it, it would seem to make sense for revenue for K-bar. I would say the same for the Moses version. Damn it! Bring it back, lol.

I see some on ebay for $325.00, too damn expensive for a 1095 carbon blade knife. I guess if I were collecting and looking to keep it pristine I might...dunno.
@phild.97678 жыл бұрын
Let me start by saying that I am huge Beckerhead. I own 2 BK9s, a BK7,,2 BK5s,aBK2 ,a BK10 and a BK 11...but I just can't stand the look of this knife. If they would have stuck to the specs of the prototype then maybe. But for the price range, this will have to be the one Becker that I will pass up.
@averageiowaguy8 жыл бұрын
+Phil D. To each their own. The BK-20 felt like a very capable chopper in my hand. I'm a fan of the Raider Bowie though.

@jerryarnold26738 жыл бұрын
why are they pumping up a knife that there are only 500 made? if its so good why don't they make it all the time?
@MrKitty-zv3dl8 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you said this, I didn't give that a thought. You're right, why the hell amp people up for something unavailable or limited? If it was great why only limit profits to the production of only 500 pcs? Doesn't make sense.

+Julian Thueringer me too, but I trust Mr Becker to put usability and utility above looks. I would imagine they had good reasons to change the looks that much. to me, it much more resembles a bolo machete than a bowie now.
