I'm watching these "at Norman's Rare Guitars" videos for the stories that are told. Jesus Christ how much I lover when someone has an amazaing story to tell about a guitar, how they met, anything. That's more than awesome.

My favorite actor alive right now. If you love A Clockwork Orange, you'll maybe enjoy the uncut version of Caligula, and possibly Oh Lucky Man, both starring Malcolm McDowell.

I don't even play guitar, but I'm a music freak. Finding Norm's Rare Guitars on KZbin has been a blessing. I've gone back and watched almost all of the clips on here and I feel like I know this whole class of characters from Norm to Lemmo, Frank Stallone, Bonamassa (who I'm a huge fan) Jen and everyone else there at the shop. Keep up the incrdeible content and thanks for giving me, all of us, this great ray of sunshine. Have a great 2020! BTW young Beckett was great!

Jimbo Slice yeah, it’s meant to be disgusting. It’s a commentary about the government (or establishment,) controlling the way people think and act, and a warning about the lengths to which they may go in order to control a population and their freedoms and liberties. In the end, while Alex DeLarge was an incurable piece of garbage, even his former friends not only straightened out, they became officers of the law.

I never researched it so thanks for the info.
@jamesthe-doctor8981
@jamesthe-doctor8981 4 жыл бұрын
Jimbo Slice I never researched it either, I was just writing what I personally feel is what Anthony Burgess’ book meant to convey, or the “statement” he was trying to make. If one actually were to research it, there are probably volumes written about it out there that say vastly different things about it, but I don’t really know. I guess it’s subjective, but I don’t think I’m very far off. The main attraction for me is that Nadsat slang he created for the story. It’s just fun. But as far as the actions and imagery throughout the film, it can be hard to watch. Pretty brutal stuff. Cheers.

AJ Bowen the book is virtually always better than it’s movie, and you’re right, Anthony Burgess’ original book is much better. IMO it gives you much more insight to the “message” he meant to convey with the story which, again, IMO, is very Orwellian. But one of the best things about the book (yet again, IMO 😂) is the Nadsat glossary that defines all the slang they used throughout the story. A lot of it is obvious through context, but that glossary makes every word absolutely clear. Besides, whenever you meet someone else who knows much of it, you can have some very fun conversations!
