Just had a furnace cleaning done last week. Told guy the Reset tips-off at times and i have to press the reset many times. So he does cleaning, i had vacuumed almost everywhere before he arrived. Today Reset tips-off again at minus 30 outside. Kinda freaks me out. I KZbin the problem. Some guy reading a script explains, i just don't get it. Ah the trusted Lavimoniere, watched few of your videos in the past week before this guy came over. Here you are fixing a miss-fire reset, wow. I took out the cats eye. Cleaned, it had residue. Wow, purring like a cat. Wish i could find a guy like you up here. Thank you, my family is not gonna freeze. Out in countryside. Sir thanks again. Thumbs-up. Cheers, Maurice :)

Ohm out the cad cell while burning is running by removing yellow cad cell wires from primary control and use a jumper to keep burner running and verify that primary control is good. The cad cell should be below 1600 ohms when sensing light/ flame while burner is running. If higher than 1600 Ohms cad cell is dirty, not positioned correctly or just defective or possible shorted cad cell wire . I always hook up my fuel pressure gauge as well to make sure the pump is not breaking down or have a bad burner motor to pump coupling to. This comment is not for you Steve but for younger and newer techs learning the trade and may not have a cad cell on the service truck we do. Nothing worse then having a boss yell at you after you run out to a supply house to get a new cad cell and is does not fix it lol. You are a expert burner mechanic in my book man. Keep up the great work and videos.

With the control in this video, when the flame lights you push the button once..the green light will blink, each blink is equal to 400ohms. So 1 blink is 0-400 2 blinks is 400-800 and so on.

Even if your a seasoned vet, this process should be done

And ya this control does let you know how much resistance the cad has.

Question. My peerless oil boiler runs for about 2 cycles and then the safety red light comes on. Chimney is fine, New control replaced, new cad, filter, cleaning of inside . My question is could a bad ignition transformer be causing this?

I enjoy these videos because they are interesting problems. No made up bull. Of course I learn a lot. I’m a retired school psychologist and in my field when we diagnosed children we say, “ If you hear hoofbeats think horses not zebras.”, which means you start at the most common cause then proceed to the rare or unusual cause.

I had this issue recently. It turns out the cause was my power vent system. The bush in front on the power vent had grown significantly and must have been disrupting the flow of the exhaust to the point that it tripped the safety and would intermittently shut down the burner. Trimming the bush back and creating distance appears to have solved the issue.

Steve, a lot of your videos, such as this one, show the house has oil for heat but gas for hot water. Is that a common thing up there? Why is that?

maybe a air leak in filter at tank on flared fitting or bad oil line ,, do you have a good oil flow out of tank ....... and through oil pump . might be a blocked pump filter
@GeorgeMartinez-m8y9 ай бұрын
@@stevenlavimoniere Hey Steve thank you for getting back to me... The company years ago over pass the filter by putting the line above the Tank... Never had a problem there is a good flow going. I notice a leak at the pump where the 2 bypass plugs are located are leaking a little bit a drop at a time. Few weeks ago I told my wife it has to be a leak some where check the whole line system and everything is good except this two plugs. Probably that is the problem , so how can I fix it? Thank you for your help. Happy St. Patrick Day Brother LOL!!!

Darkness, and spark is what gets it going. The cad cell seeing light (as in there's a flame) is what keeps it going.
