As a woman who has struggled with her weight most of her life (I've been heavy since the 3rd grade except for a short dieting period a few years ago) and who is currently on a health and fitness journey so that I can be as healthy as I can be for my daughter, I understand where you are coming from 100%. I've very cognizant that I don't disparage my weight or how I sometimes feel about how I look in front of my daughter. I never want her to think that she's not worthy if she isn't a certain weight or size. I'm hoping to show that being STRONG and HEALTHY is what's important.

Hi Rachel. Have been enjoying your vlog for the past few months. Both your sweet babies have grown and matured so much! Little Miss Blakely is entering a developmental period where she is seeking independence, testing her boundaries in all areas, and using her powers of being so mobile, talkative, and charming to her advantage. It can be a cranky time with some days better than others. What I found helped keep me sane during that time with my own children was to make sure they had a good schedule for eating, playing, and sleeping. The other thing I did was to pick my battles. That was hard, because some days it seemed like one battle after another was occurring. If something is important to you, listen to your inner voice and let her know that particular behavior is not acceptable. A change in voice level, removing her from the situation, and diverting her attention can be effective ways of a toddler tantrum. Staying calm, and being consistent with your expectations will help with your confidence. Toddlers are full of themselves, and are developing at such a rapid rate, it is overwhelming for them and you at times. Strap in and hang on! Don’t feel bad if you can’t wait for them to go to bed at night sometimes. I sure did! Lol

I was a cheerleader as well and always had an athletic build with muscle legs. I hated my body as I compared myself to others. I developed anorexia senior year and weighed 80 lbs. I learned to love myself now especially since people said I lost my butt lol. Now I gained my butt back and I’m at the healthiest I’ve been. I can loose a couple pounds but I’m not in a rush to. My bf loves me and I am learning to love myself and that’s all that matters😊

Rachel ! I have a 22m old son and I habe a 11m old daughter. I myself had a very bad ED growing up. Started when i was about 10 and I recovered around age 20. I got pregnant at 24 and I cant lie I struggled with my body but by my 2nd pregnancy I finally truly loved myself and my amazing body that is able to make these beautiful babies. My biggest fear is my daughter going through the struggles i did with my body and depression etc. You arent alone love, it is so scary. But we as parents must do our best at breaking cycles. I love the first time they have their drink of lemonade. That face! I am a firm believer in giving a teething or whiny toddler a dose of Tylenol. They cannot fully express what might be hurting them. If we have a headache, a smart adult takes Tylenol for relief. A toddler needs that relief also. It can't hurt them. I love watching Hunter play with the kiddos! He really has a great bond with his babies. You can tell the love is there.

I honor your decision on doing what you feel is best for her. I have adult children and made some decisions to protected them from the pains of my upbringing. However, they managed to each find something to struggle with. When thinking about this and asking myself what more could I had done, I had a very strong realization. I realized that even if It were possible to be a perfect parent, my child would still have trials, hurts, problems etc. I realized it was meant to be this way because if I could give my child EVERYTHING they needed, they would have no need from God and they need to need God in their life. This was truly a tender mercy in my life. I doubt cute little Blakers will struggle with body image because of your dedication to change that for her, however when she does come upon a life “lesson” keep in mind there is purpose in the lesson.

@cinnamoon14552 жыл бұрын
It's the same with pacifiers and thumb sucking. Any kind of prolonged sucking on an object will affect the teeth. So the most important thing is to let them drink but not suckle for a long time.

Kid-e-calc or kid-e-col from Dr. Christopher, help with teething. It is a dropper that can be placed directly on the teething area. This helps little children from running fevers and helping the tooth to cut through the gums. I bought mine at a health food store in American Fork.

Having grown up a dancer, they really do pressure you at a young age in a no-so-positive way in order to make sure you have or develop the "right body type" and while I didn't develop an ED, I do have fragile self-worth that may or may not be related to that and chronic pain that is 100% related to being a pre-professional dancer. And I quit when I was 12, so it's not like I had a first career in dance or it was high school pressures or something. Similar qualities of responsibility, teamwork, enriching their life can be done with learning an instrument, maybe doing hip hop or just a casual studio that doesn't participate in competitions or auditions, team sports like basketball, etc.

It's normal for most girl moms to worry about our daughters and worried how they will view themselves. It's our job to show them how beautiful and special they are. Teach them to have the right kind of friends. Help them learn healthy habits as their kids and love them and help them through everything. I use to hate myself as a teen and I hope that my girls never hurt like I did. Their too beautiful and wonderful to ever cry their hearts out but I know they probably will someday as we all did growing up so sad to think about:( Blakely is in good hands just keep up the good work. ED is a devastating disease. My daughter suffered for about 2 years with anorexia. When the anorexia seemed to end she became obsessed with exercise which was just as addicting and harmful. I do agree that setting an example with sons or daughter, their diet/nutrition are definitely lead by example. My daughter was the healthiest when she was playing basketball and volleyball she had to consume more calories to keep up the stamina and strength to run up and down the basketball court. She gained muscle and strength it was such a awesome sight. Girls play soccer, softball, basketball, volleyball etc that don’t focus a certain look and expectations that cheer and gymnastics do. My daughter now has my granddaughter playing in soccer and skiing neither empathizing a certain body type. Just a suggestion for cute Blakey.

Love getting to see the kiddos 👏🥰 Rach, with your ED recovery have you understood what " created this need for Control"? I'm always interested in the ROOT CAUSES of things. I,too was Anorexic (12yrs old diagnosis) then to stay out of the hospital I knew I HAD to eat so there for became Bulimic. What a tough journey. I don't FEEL like I was ever given THE TOOLS. But I feel I'm soooouch healthier. Have a VERY addictive personality,too. But I was blessed with a daughter( 23yrs ago) and was like," Lord why would you intrust ME with a little girl" well I do think it was to help me 🙏👏. My need for the control came from CRAZY home, 4 older brothers and only girl life( alcoholic father, grandmother came in and overtook my role as the baby of the family,and sexual abuse.) But 45 yrs later also diagnosed with Lyme disease and other co infections. Yes this, bacteria crosses the blood brain barrier. And IF they would check for this as routine for mental health I think we could have great breakthrough for many.. Anyhoo. Thanks for reading. Healthy hugs friend ☮️🙏🤗🤟

I don't know whether it's an option where you live, but would Blakely like learning a musical instrument or singing? Do you have horse riding for the disabled anywhere near you? They would have someone leading the pony and one person, perhaps including a parent, walking each side and holding the child by the knee or round the waist. Beckham would love that if he likes animals and going by his achievements on dad's shoulders, he would do well

I totally get it about medicine with little ones ecspecially. I only gave if my son was miserable or at night if he was feverish. Having a fever can be ok as long as it’s not really high but low grade is totally ok to let them get through it wo medication. It’s kind of a hard one bc I’m all for helping my child if they are miserable but sometimes it’s not bad enough and I can tell so I don’t give anything. You do what ever you think is right in the situation. I would also consider natural remedies first.

I'm not an expert by any means, but with the weaning, I think I had to do with mouth development. As the mouth and jaw develop they are designed more for chewing and biting than for sucking. I know that letting kids use a pacifier or bottle for too long can lead to dental and jaw issues later

We need a video of just Beautiful Blakely in the mirror. (Like a long one) God shield and protect Blakely so that she will always be so joyfully present and confident before the mirror. Let her always know without any doubt that she is wonderfully and fearfully made in your image. May she always know she is enough just as she is, may she always aspire to being her best self without putting undue pressure on herself. May she always know with certainty, that though she is not perfect, she is perfectly her, not only in everything she is, but also in all she is not. Send your angels before her, prepare her path so that she shall not stumble and fall. But should she fall, may it always be into your loving arms. Guide Hunter and Rachel as her parents and ensure they comprehend that you hand picked them for both Beckham and Blakely because you knew that they were the best choice for both children. Thank you God that you will always lead them beside quiet waters, that you comfort them unwaveringly, healing every hurt they must face. I pray you will shine the brightest of lights in their garden for Beckham. He is one of your most precious gems who already inspires so many. Continue placing him among those whom he needs to be among, so that he accomplishes everything he desires - for in you ALL things are possible. This family deserve these riches of heaven. May Hunter and Rachel, always have thoughts to share, time to spend, places to be with each other. May their moments become minutes, their minutes, hours, their hours days, their days weeks, their weeks months, their months years, and their years lifetimes in which they cherish and honour each other. May they harvest a wealth of precious gems for the treasure chest of memories. May their cup always overflow. They deserve it.

my daughter loves cheer , i enjoyed it to , your so tiny and beautiful You wont put her in completion but she will be faced with it in magazines school . I would not even make it a big deal at all around her . If she comes home and wants to join a tean rather it is basket ball to cheer what could you say i never say i don't want u to because i... i am so sorry i be so confused if i was faced with that , like u want to tell her but than again if u do she could think it is in my DNA it is gonna happen , So sorry u went threw that and again now it is still making life difficulty for you, But your a great mom and you got this.

i failed to mention the girls on her cheer team and the coach's had there favorites were so mean they did not talk to her nor me, And they called it a cheer family! We went out of town for the weekend it be 5-6 hours away So we stayed im the HOTEL DAYS INN with all the others ,Well you know how you have breakfast included in your stay and the area is small not one of them spoke the whole weekend , THE COMPITION TEAMS they talk to me, My daughter was not a flyer she was a bit on the heaver side not fat but solid and she did everything well her team one all, And we enjoyed our time together and that's all that mattered, So yes those girls are more than rude but the coaches and mothers of the girls that were good was who they looked up to and some of them were bad even the owner .(CARELTON ALL STARS) SAINT JOHN NEW BRUNSWICK So sorry to ramble! but i know what u r saying is true as i lived it my girl was just happen to HAVE BEEN THREW IT! FAMILY LOL
