Ah, yes, wet blending and use of a wet palette, as us miniatures painters know, are important things to know and have, respectively, and it was fun to watch you effectively wet blending your body paint all over your face and upper body. We can maybe call this look Bride of Frankenberry? Good to see you back at it, Miss Lex, as only you can do, and a new Madeyewlook video is always worth the time!

Lex! When your glue stick gets like that, it usually means the top layer is slightly dried out, just slice the top layer off and warm it up a little bit and it’ll be good as new!

For some reason your videos completely disappeared from my recommendations for YEARS but I suddenly remembered you again and I'm glad to see you keep going. Considering how hard it is to illustrate skin realistically because even on one person the skin has a bunch of different colours, I was thinking of a bit of a 'challenge'. You've done many fantasy/alien/monster etc skintones through the years, but what if you painted yourself completely white/black/blue/whatever, just some solid base colour. And then try to recreate your own natural skintone on yourself with all the small variations that it has. I think it could be interesting and it could show people how skin behaves on different parts of the body, why that is etc I know this is not as 'fun' as painting monsters but I'd watch it :p

Awesome look as usual, Lex! Especially love the autopsy style incisions. Just wanted to add, if you ever wanted to make a more realistic version one day (coming from a funeral director) you could paint a running whip stitch or my personal favourite, a baseball stitch which I think might be fun to try and paint. :)

The anterior bigger bulky neck muscles highlighted are Sternocleidomastoid (SCM). The small stringy muscles in the hollow highlighted are scalene muscles. ;)

I used to just mix the colours in the lids of the pans. I haven’t used them a lot, but I needed to mix colours & the lids worked pretty well as little mixing surfaces. Then I could just clean them off if I wanted them to look pretty, or I could leave the messy lid if I wanted to keep the new colour. I can’t be the only one who did this?

Hey Lex, I'm about to obsessively rewatch videos for tips around this haha, but I wanted to ask about applying foundation under your paints. Do you always? Is it because paints go on better when you do? I tried a look last night without it and I was really struggling with texture and fall out sticking to my face. Pretty sure my paint wasn't wet enough first of all, but wondering how much difference a foundation will make. Going for practice 2.0 tonight :) PS - just ordered your brush set and can't wait for happy mail!

We are own worst critiques when it comes to something we're passionate about. I'm an illustrator and can be the same way when it comes to my artwork. I always say that don't look right at all, and to an outsider they say it looks just fine. After all, honestly I saw nothing really wrong with how you had the stitching part before.
