try taking the rune last stand, you have to die for it to be useful but it makes you do quite a lot more damage in your passive. It sounds grief initially but arcane comet does a lot of damage as a rune when compared to first strike, its good in ur passive and good for skirmishes. Your spells make comet a low CD and the comet ap scalings are great. I use Sorcery: Comet->Axiom Arcanist->Absolute Focus->Gathering Storm Precision: CDR->Last Stand

that setup is okay but only on bot lane (and some mid matchups) where combat power is actually needed also comet is grief and aery is way better because u auto attack quite a bit in early fights (where ur setup is useful) and also cdr rune is completely useless lmao, i'd go ult hunter personally but if u rly like last stand pom is jstt rlly op (esp since ur playing w/o manaflow) in jgl first strike is jst always better, it gives so much gold and outscales way too fast, u can argue that theres gonna be early fights where FS will make difference, but if u play karthus properly situations like that almost never happen as opposed to FS which is jst guaranteed value (even if FS itself isnt too much value having it activate on a 5 man nuke is jst too op) also u usually go DH with last st and because u want to ult when ur dead aka enemies should be low hp

@ the runes I provided are for jungle and not lane. Comet ap ratios scale well and as a keystone rune CONSISTENTLY does thousands more damage that FS (try it). The money making is great on FS but you also have to consider that you miss out on other great runes like Axiom Arcanist or Last Stand. Sorcery + Precision have everything Karthus abuses without even considering a keystone. Comet is unfort a compromise but it’s a damn good one considering DH and FS have gutted damage. Highly recommend u play with rune info up and you try Axiom Arcanist/Last Stand/Comet and see the differences in damage. Also CDR rune is good in jg, you don’t need mana regen in runes and it helps get more Qs out on top of reducing your ultimate cooldown 👍

@@lilac-o9f the runes he gave are the current rec from Karhus, #1 NA Karthus. Comet is fine in jungle, FS is also viable, DH is ass due to the tree just being weak without Eyeball
